  1. I have the Symphony 1.8 and can't comment on the other 2. I'm looking to buy.the 2.2 to increase my pull. I think you'll find any of those kites to be a blast to fly but you may want to move up in size later. I recently asked HQ what the difference was between the 'Beach' models and the 'Pro' models. This is what they said: We offer two versions of the Symphony to allow for different budgets and preferences. Both kites are great flyers and excellent for a wide range of pilots, however the Symphony pro series is the higher end option with a sewn bridle and higher grade Ripstop-Nylon material, while the Beach series is considered entry level and has a knotted bridle and Ripstop-Polyester fabric. The choice is yours but I thought you might want to be aware of this if you compare price/quality of the Symphony kite to the Prism
  2. Were your lines sleeved? My foil kite came with 150# unsleeved lines. I used the loop on a loop to help separate the lines after flying. In the really strong winds, the 2nd loop would slip out requiring me to cut and retie the lines. Sleeves cured that. If your lines are breaking at the knot and you don't have sleeves, you might want to check into it.
  3. I need to work on my line management a bit too. Seems I still end up with line twists. One of the Youtube videos on line management seems pretty straightforward.
  4. I recently purchased a Rev 1.5.....my first exposure to quad line kiting. The first time out was an unpleasant experience. The kite kept crashing upside down and the lack of consistent wind and a novice pilot caused me to continually run down and flip the kite manually. Add in the temp in the 90s and high humidity and it was a nasty night. Tonight was the second time out and was much more successful! I read the manual (aka RTFM) and watch the videos. I still landed it upside down quite a few times but now I've learned to flip the kite with the controls. There was much more wind tonight....perhaps too much at times.....but I was able to control the kite and put the brakes on to slow it down. A much more enjoyable experience!
  5. Kansas City......the one in Missouri!
  6. The back story will exceed 1 line.......but for a 1 liner.... It's a great family activity for 4 generations of my family
  7. "Got out" last night.....checked my new lines for equal lengths, strung the lines.....somewhere between that and kite assembly the wind reversed 180 degrees. By the time I got turned around, the wind was dead. Maybe tonight! Thanks so much for the support here!
  8. My first 'real' kite purchase was from Into The Wind. Great service, great free catalog, great store front in Boulder. My recently purchased Rev came from Chicago Kite....a great experience too!

Starting them young.....4 generations of family kite flyers
  10. From the album: Family Kite Flying

Moments after the photo was taken, my little 2 year old nephew got scared when a gust of line pulled the kite and he dropped the string.
  11. I recently purchased my first quad line.....a Rev 1.5 SLE....and have been very disappointed! No, not in the kite but the weather has been rainy every day since I got it and haven't been able to get it out yet. I'm very excited at the prospects of a sunny, rain free day tomorrow.
