John Barresi
Attention... Due to some spammers registering here and posting unrelated drug and unsavory web content, "validating" members can no longer start or reply to topics on the Kitelife forum.Q: What does "validating" mean? A: When you register, an email is sent to the email address you registered to the forum with... In that email is a link, by clicking it the user simply verifies that they have indeed used a real email address and are then granted full use of the forum.Pretty straight forward - again, we do this to ensure that our lovely kite forum is not cluttered with the garbage so many of us are tired of seeing... Viagra, casinos, and all the other spam fodder. If you used a real email address and have not gotten your validation email from us, look for the "Resend Validation Email" link near the upper right corner of the forum page... If you have any problems, feel free to email me for help. Thanks everyone!
bbailey49
Isn't it weird that forcing them to post a legitimate email address then click on a link in an email to that address before they can start their spamming onslaught is sufficient to stop those jerks? John Barresi
Isn't it weird that forcing them to post a legitimate email address then click on a link in an email to that address before they can start their spamming onslaught is sufficient to stop those jerks? Surprisingly, it's not always enough - sometimes they use legitimate "burner" emails, which is why I still elect to validate every new member (except paid subscribers) manually.
