Hello All,

I am new to this forum as well as being new to stunt kites. I got my first stunt kite last summer from SAM'S Club. It was cheap but it got me into the sport. I have always liked flying kites since I was a kid but not until I hit a dual line stunt kite did it become really fun. I ended up borrowing a stunt kite from a buddy at work and ended up buying it from him. I think its a lot better kite than the sams club kite I can fly it in a lot stronger wind than the sams club one.

The kite that I got from my friend is a Trick & Track I really like it. I can control fairly well, I think, I can do dives, loops, zig zags, etc. Pardon me if my terminalogy isn't correct. I was out tonight and flew for about 2 1/2 hours and only crashed the kite twice.

My question is is the Trick & Track a good kite for me to continue to learn with? I want a kite that will grow with me.

Is this kite capable of hard, radical, stunts?

Where can I learn about how to do different stunts?

Is there any local kite groups in Central Ohio?

I guess in short.. Where do I start and NOW WHAT!!

Anything else any of you want to add.. I am open to any information that people want to throw my way.

I figure if I can't throw my boomerangs because its to windy... I can fly the kite..

Thank you all in advance.

Howdy,

I don't know about the kite... Certainly one of our other members should come up some info before long, but I do know there is a kite club in Northwestern Ohio that should have more information about kite events and clubs in your area... The Black Swamp Air Force.

Find their web site here...

http://www.bsaf.org/

Your also take a look at the American Kiteflier's Association...

http://aka.kite.org/

Specifically, here is their list of clubs in your region (includes a few states)...

http://www.aka.kite.org/?cgi-bin/resource_...i?region=5#club

Hope this helps,

:w00t: And then when you are tired of flying those kites with all those control lines and want to kick back and enjoy the view and look really cool check out rickbrowncodys.com :w00t: VERY COOL, John is flying one at W.S.I.K.F. He may not know it yet but he is. :sq-upsidedown:

The Trick & Track is one of Premier's best stunt kites and is capable of just about any stunt you want to throw at it. Telling someone how to perform advanced stunts is about like telling someone how to fly a 747. It does take time to perfect the stunts and most of them have to be done at just the right time (when the kite is in "this" position) to pull them off. The best way to learn is to find someone in your area that is willing to take the time to show you how to do them. Another way to learn is to track down your local kite shop and purchase a video that will show you various stunts. The best one I have found is "Freestyle Pilot" by Prism kites. This DVD is menu driven so you can select which trick you want to work on. It takes you through the basics such as stalls, landings, wing tip stabs (which I don't ever recommend doing) and up to Axles, Flick Flacks, Fades, Lazy Susans etc... New Tech has another DVD that is also great and will set you on the way.

I am sure you will be amazed at what the Trick & Track is capable of doing.

I have some basic information on my site that may help you out here:

Bridle Adjusting

Good luck, you have a very good kite on your hands.

Hey Guys,

Thank you for all of the great information. I think I am going to first try to find someone in my area that is a kite flyer and try to hook up with them. Also I am going to try to track down any local kite shops. I know that there has got to be some in the COlumbus, Ohio area. And I am going to try to read as much about CODYKITES as I can....NOT :sq-upsidedown: No but really I am going to try to keep searching the net to find out what I can.. Thank you all for your help and I'll be in and out of here from time to time.

Until next time, keep your kite in the wind and your lines crossed.

Hey Clint,

You've got a lot of good times ahead of you. If you can hook up with some other flyers in your area, it'll be even more enjoyable. Maybe you can find a kitefest for even broader enjoyment.

You've got so many possibilities. You've found out how much fun a dual-line kite can be. Some people are bigoted toward a particular kite. (what's a Cody?) Ah, but I digress. There are such a large number of single line kites for kicking back, duals, of course, single-line fighters (that I can't seem to fly well), and of course, quads (I'm not bigoted!). You've got power kiting, ballet, team... The list goes on and on.

What an adventure! Enjoy the ride.

Later, Doug

Sounds like you guys have fun even when your not flying your kites :D I do eventually hope to get into other kites as well but I fugure I will stick with the 2 line until I get better with it.
