Peng Hu islands, kite festival (Taiwan)

hello, folks

we had just participated in an interesting event including "kite flying" as the test run for

the future kite festival planning, in Penghu islands (Taiwan).

most of us arrive on 10/8 and the event started 10/9 on Gibei island with beautiful beach and all the 120 local students on that island came to join us.

10/10 is our nation's birthday and the whole day's program included mostly team flying (dual line by team Air-rex; quad by team 8+ and also a mega flying by both Japanese flyers and team 8+ total 12 pilots, team train flying with team Niji providing 8 sets of train kites with country flags, flown Japanese and Taiwanese flyers) and one pair flying (dual line, Wolf Two).

it's worth mentioning that even under all circumstances, the flyers did a great job introducing the modern kite flying to the island.

after successfully completing the mission, 10/11 morning we were taken on a tour to some scenic spots for sight seeing.

it's rather amusing to see how our tour guide tried very hard to tell us to leave our kites on the bus and only bring the camera.... but in vain.

our kite strong flyers brought kites and flew whenever possible. and that alone, demonstrated their passion and devotion in kite flying.

it's all good.

here i will post my photo album but mine is not really complete since there are other issues going on and i missed some shots.

enjoy.

ps: for those who likes sea foods, this is a great event to be.... our meals alone is worth going.

pps: we also did night fly /street fly, but i did not take my camera .... wen and i both enjoyed the flying by the harbor in the night

* since it is a test run instead of a true kite festival, we had an easy schedule which equals vacation...10am till 730pm (finish dinner)

Most of the time Wen is a cool flyer and there is a slight trace of fans to say the least.

Both of us had a great time, just to be there, very pleasant weather, and nice hospitality in general.

the flying is good enough because the clean wind, although the field at the event can be improved.

the funny thing is, my parents were on the street one night and came out from their dinner... turning around,

my father happened to see the news on the kite flying in Penghu and the ending they saw someone just like Wen.... confirmed, it was wen, hahaha.

We went to get Wen's passport renew in process today now officially i can say --- we can rest and relax now since June..... until Nov (TBFP).

i think of you often, how wonderful that we spent some quality time together!

This summer had been very rich even busy for us both , now we are flat as a ball losing the air....

i put together some pictures from our journey June-Oct, and looking back how much had happened and how much we have been blessed.....

Love, and hugs to you, and G, L.and J

It says I need a new browser. I've tried 2 computers. Maybe the 3rd one will a charm. Glad to hear you had a wonderful new festival dry run. :sign_kitelife: BB Penny ~ who just saw the pictures after all. Nice.. Beautiful. I think Wen has grown a head taller already.

dear Penny:

i think wen grow a head taller in my imagination, we just measured him ha, was 1.5 inch shorter then my guess.

one thing about that festival on the islands--- they canceled the indoor demo.

sigh.

hopefully next year when they run a full festival, that part would be included.

we have been home since two weekends but still did not get out to fly on our own yet,

still recovering. this weekend, we most likely will free fly-----yeah
