Razor Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Hey gurus! Hoping you could help me with some newbie indoor rev-ing questions! Is the B-series Zen suitable for indoor flying for a new flyer? I've found some posts in revolution forum that talk about this topic and it goes into details on the bridle and stuff, but it doesn't really get into whether the Zen is a good indoor kite for a beginner. Can the Indoor Rev be custom coloured like the B-series Pro and Zen? revkites aren't replying my e-mails =( Quote
Wayne Dowler Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Hi - The Zen had been used indoors, but it isn't the best tool for that job!! The Indoor was designed around that purpose, lighter spars, sail, no bridle, etc.........! If you only go inside occasionally, then the Zen might fill the need, but it'll be harder than the Indoor! If you plan on being a regular indoor flier, get an Indoor Rev!!! Quote

Wayne Dowler Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 I've been flying indoors for only a short while, but my Indoor is a real treat!! You'll learn to let things develop and not overpower it!! This light touch will also rub off on your outdoor flying too! Any color combos can be discussed with Lolly at Rev!!! She'll let you know what is possible!! Quote
John Barresi Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 You can also communicate with your local Rev dealer, they should be able to arrange custom orders on your behalf. Supporting the shops is always a good way to go. On the original topic... The Zen isn't an ideal indoor kite... Not built for it... Possible, but you really have to hustle, and it takes some skill to rotate the kite without clipping the ground due to the 9' wingspan... Indoor Rev is far, FAR easier. Quote

Razor Posted July 20, 2011 Author Report Posted July 20, 2011 Hey JB what length of lines do you use/recommend for indoor flying? Quote
Wayne Dowler Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Hey JB what length of lines do you use/recommend for indoor flying? Myself, I use 10' x 90#!! Quote
Razor Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 Have just ordered my custom indoor rev with the graphite handles! Can't wait! Quote
Wayne Dowler Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 You'll like!!! Just watch out if you're tempted to try it outside - wind gusts will break it pretty easily!! Quote
John Barresi Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Aye, second that... Indoor Rev is *very* flexible, and doesn't do so well in gusts. Quote
Razor Posted July 26, 2011 Author Report Posted July 26, 2011 That sounds like sound advice to me. =) Strictly indoors then. I guess the word "wind" with the not-allowed sign kinda sums everything up! Haha. Quote
John Barresi Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 I hope our in-person discussions on this topic helped to clarify Stuart, I seem to recall you have an indoor on order now. Congrats brother. Quote
