boomertype Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 I recently picked up a couple of these, new, unflown, 1994 version, dynamite price. One had a crushed spar and the other was super dusty from being a display model before the kite store closed in 1995. I may have found a replacement spar and the display model was missing the bridle attachment points, which I have replaced. Any tips or thoughts on these beauties. I have yet to get one out for a flight. Interesting, they both come with an extra main spar that extends the wind range. So the wind ranges are 0-12 and 10 to 18. Quote
John Barresi Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Any tips or thoughts on these beauties. I have yet to get one out for a flight. You'll be applying a little less forward and reverse on Decas as opposed to the Rev series... It's a fine touch, and will take a minute to get used to. I never spent the time to adjust, but I knew a guy by the name of Sandy Wagner who could fly the %#@$&@ out of it! Clockwork turns, slides, you name it. The main place you'll notice a difference is that slides are darn near impossible due to the way the kite is designed. Interesting, they both come with an extra main spar that extends the wind range. So the wind ranges are 0-12 and 10 to 18. Yup, my standard was the same way when I got it in 1992... I think that may be par for the course with Decas. Quote
