John Barresi
We're here... Weather was GREAT yesterday, teams looked awesome. So far, Elément' Air and Tame Bird seem to have all the moves... But we'll see how it all comes out when the dust settles. First update goes up late tonight, or very early tomorrow morning. Penny Lingenfelter
Congratulations to Team Cutting Edge for winning World Cup. I know John will have an awesome article in Kitelife, but lets shout some hurrays now. This is the most challenging competition out there for a team and no small matter. I remember when the original Cutting Edge Kite Team started and when Jim & Monica Barber came on the scene. I don't think the girls were even in school and one is graduating this year. Monica & Jim flew side by side on the team for many years. There was a break or two over the years, and new members, but Jim was persistant and it paid off. It's not a fluke, it was years of practice. They didn't deserve it because of the practice. They won it due to the practice. They are an inspiration in the kiting world. Oh.... and you can visit their stores in Ocean Shores.. Cutting Edge Kites and Monica's. Our favorite stores on the west coast. Yeah Cutting Edge Kite Team!!! Kudo's to the family's that supported chasing their dreams. May you all reap the rewards from your success. God Bless you! Keep looking up! Best Breezes, Penny
John Barresi
Hear hear! Determination and practice was the key to their success, and they definitely earned the right to call themselves World Champions. Plus, it's the first time in 11 years that we've brought it home to the USA!
