So my wife is digging kiting, and very excited. Ive been teaching her and it's not been terribly easy. I picked up on most everything quickly (hence had few things to "learn" persay) and she is going quick but Im not very good at explaining things.

So far she can do basic push/pull turns and combo's as well as snap stalls, most recoveries. Tonight we started on the axle and she got off a few really nice. no crashes all day for 7 hours (yay wendy!) while I was off testing some quads.

My question is, where do I take her from here? She's been flying a newtech bigbang, and it's been a fabulous kite to start with for her. Slow, medium precision and very durable. Other than the included lines being a foot off (which gave me a chance to teach her resleeving), pretty darn good starter.

Err, got off on a tangent. So where do I take her from here? Going to let her fly one of my more advanced kites on sunday (she's eyeing the quantum pro, im eyeing some new frame parts LOL) and like to give her some new things to try out.

Suggestions?

Have you cruised around the Prism website ?

Once you get past the opening screen, click the "How To" button at the bottom of the screen, then either the "Trick Animations" or "Video Clips" selections. They have some pretty good stuff there.

There are other online sources for videos and such, that are great ways to learn new stuff, I just can't think of them at the moment. Also, the Prism DVD and Dodd Gross' DVD are fantastic for learning how to fly well and do tricks. :)

She got gross' video with the newtech... and has been watching it a lot... but, yeah :)

Prism's website is fantastic though, I totally forgot about their flash animations and such.

Take her out to dinner because she's cool enough to also take up kiting with you. B) Then tell her you both need to get her a super fancy trick kite.

Or a Rev.

We goto dinner everytime we go out kiting (every other day about) :)

I already own a few "super fancy" kites that she doesnt mind at all. And we're getting a rev sunday, she's rather jealous I got to fly one for a few hours lol.... She just got a mega-nice commercial sewing machine so it's fair anyways

She was out at the park flying my quantum pro this morning and she brought my illusion and genesis with her... I need to start waking up before her :)

We enjoy many things together, "grew up" together playing in a band and started our own recording studio where we both work(ed) (and I still do) , now she runs a custom bag business which I love to help with, and works as a cake decorator (which im trying to learn, it's mega fun and ssswweeeeetttt).

Very cool Rob!

I also come from a music background, its my "other" hobby besides kiting. I've spent too much time and money in recording studios over the years. I have a nice little digital performer rig that I tend to work up demos and stuff on now.

One day, I'll write my own quad ballet music...

my stuff is at
