blackbeard
I only have one kite a hq invento .I call this a mid size has compared to a 90 cm wide kite. I fly on 100 ft lines.I figured this would get me far enough of the ground so i would not crash often. In Johns demo video its hard to figure the line length he uses.I would like some opinion on line length and kite size .could i learn better with a 90+ wide kite and shorter lines? Backspin23
100 foot lines should be good for you to learn on. I believe John usually flyes on 100 to 120 foot lines, however his kite's wing spand is about 90 inches. If your kite is significantly smaller and hard to see at that range then 80-100 feet should do you good, or even shorter if it is still difficult to see. I don't know how well the invento tricks, but I'm sure you could learn axels, cascades and stuff like that. The trickability of the kite, isn't only related to the wing spand, it depends on what the kite was built for. Hope this helps JD
Dorsal
I fly nearly everything on 75 foot lines. The exceptions are SUL's in near-zero wind (45 foot lines) and Thor's Hammer (110 foot lines). I think you should fly with the length of lines that fits you, more than ones that fit the kite. audioRob
All about 75ft here. Indoor/SUL I fly 22ft's

Scott
I just got an older used model prism 3d off ebay for extremely cheap but It came with no lines. What should I use?? I just got it yesterday and made do with some broken pieces of lines from my parastunter. I wrapped the ends of the lines around my fingers just to control the thing and it worked fine just to try the kite out. Kite was flying great in my backyard winds yesterday! So what's a good lineset to get for it? Thanks for any input!
Dorsal
3D = 30# - 50# line, 10ft - 40ft long. The kite has a very light pull, so you could simply sleeve the ends, and use the sleeve as the flying straps
The Kite Shoppe
I believe John usually flyes on 100 to 120 foot lines,JD I make John's line sets any where from 100' to 125'. Also, he has approx 10' of leader line to add to the #1 position Shiva, which puts him at 135' on the 150#, 200# and 300# sets. Scott likes to fly his individuals at 131'. Also, depends on the field size! Theresa
