brokenvisage
Hey guys, looking for opinions on what kite I should consider for my needs. Been flying for 15 years and have a Quantum, Nexus, Micron, BMK Muse and other random kites, but at this point in my life I tend to always go for my Nexus so I can zoom around and just do loops or buzz the ground, I find myself not caring for slack-line tricks or anything complex that my Muse or Quantum would be good for. So my question is, what kite should I be looking at for a replacement to my Nexus? I'm looking for something similar in size and wingspan, it will be used mostly on the beach in 8-15 MPH winds and as mentioned I would like for it to be a fast moving wind ripper, but not something super small like the Micron which needs crazy wind to stay up. Any thoughts? Thanks.
jeepinjeepin
What about the Prism Jazz? Isn't it between the Micron and Nexus in size?
brokenvisage
Thanks for the quick reply! I considered the Jazz but it's another Prism kite and as much as I love my Prism kites I was thinking of going with another manufacturer for this one. I just don't know what's out there to compare to it. Prism does a great job promoting their kites and making them available on sites like Amazon so I want to make sure there's not something else out there that people would put ahead of the Nexus or Jazz for my needs.
Hadge
In a little more wind I'd say look at the HQ Delta Hawk - it needs about10-15mph to get going and at those speeds it's a nice accurate fairly quick kite. BUT from 15 mph upwards it gets faster and faster and pulls harder and harder all the way up to 40mph if you can hang on. Blisteringly fast spins and turns at 20mph. great fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_BrmksaPu0 or you make your own! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fahGcscHZo
makatakam
If you want speed, Check the Frazer XL by HQ kites. Designed to boogie. Strong pull.
brokenvisage
Thanks guys, I went with the Delta Hawk after watching that Dutch guy flying it! Only $83 on Amazon and sold by them too so it's an easy return if any issues.
Hadge
I think you will enjoy it. Don't be fooled by it's simple design and small(ish) size, it really starts to pull above 15mph and at 20+ strong lines and padded straps are a must! Looks great with a long tail.
