  1. That sounds like an awesome plan. Might use tiny microcarbon rods to maintain the pig body shape. Plastic groments might help attach everything together.
  2. Thanks for the e mail update. Had a blast with the Micron yesterday with 25 gusts. Keep me updated. Michael
  3. Wondering if you got the pig to fly?
  4. High winds today so got the trusty , abused, 20 year old Micron out. It always puts a grin on my face and a reflex work out. It is the fastest kites I have flown. The 2 homemade 8 ft stunters were a bit of a handful . Even flew some 1/2 scale fighters. Good times
  5. Balanced is usually more important. You can try different bridle attachment points to remidy that. A 3 spar frame can also be shaped like an A with the horizontal spar being a little longer on each end. There is no wrong way to do it, just try something out you like. Seen a 3 stick kit with a tee shirt made in minutes that flew great. Just go for it and have fun. My homemade stunt kites don't look very good but fly pretty well.
  6. Maybe sewing small Velcro patches to the skin to avoid glue so you could even un sew them if you wanted back original
  7. A 3 spar six sided design would give you plenty of places to attach the unusual shape. It won't need to flex and this design flies good in strong wind usually with a long tail. Probably solid carbon rods would be plenty light because the skin is on the heavy side for a sail. Have fun.
  8. Forgot password to site so just respond to email. Put stand offs on the top spreader on homemade mirage kite to make sail very taut. Also removed exsess slack by folding and sewing the sail with very little slack. Looks crappy but all I care about is functionality. Will send a picture, almost done
  9. Wow you might be the first to fly a pig. Maybe you can sew the skin on to a piece of kite fabric to make it easier to make friable. Also you can attach string to multiple outer parts to then attach to a light weight frame. Clear mylar would look cool to just see the skin. A big fighter kite frame is easy to build and light weight. Let me know how it turns out. Love your imagination of considering this great idea.
  10. Wake up dream flies. Dream of flying
  11. Well all participants are awsome so we need more of the stronger homo sapian forces to prevai Yes angel females
  12. Not truly a Sul but have had lots of fun with the Baby Tana. Been rebuilt so many times. Keep it assembled because I fly it so often and so small. Actually my first stunt kite. Caught the bug. I have 2 8 foot home made duals that have limitless bridle adjustments and can add or delete standoffs. Both have 6 standoffs. Even made an adjustable bottom spreader for different aspect ratios. Fun to try all sorts of combinations. One mirage 2 kind of I added 3 inch flaps to the trailing edge for an obnoxiously loud kite.

  14. Wow I don't know internet etiquette so dropped in here or somewhere, over there, you get it. I get kind of sad in the scorching summer months when FLYING is on my mind but not feasible. Will venture out before a thunderstorm at my best friend of 43 years request to GET SMART. I'm that old agent 99
  15. Hey John B, We will probably meet somewhere sometime?
  16. Looked up the Prism eo atom. Friend closed a kite shop and think he has quite a few of them or similar. Never flew on but look crazy fun
  17. Friend made me an iflight. They are a hoot. Like your idea of multiple kites on single lines. Love attaching a short line miniature fighter on a stable kite. Have not had any fun yet with gliders. Nephew made one out of styrofoam. I too enjoy light to no wind fun. Flew dual line in gyms a few times and is challenging but fun. Being a drummer you have really quick reflexes so fighters suit you well. Keep the beat interesting!
  18. Fighter kites, most fun you can have with a piece of string?
  19. Wow all kites are fun to me but too old to fly hard pullers. Although I can still fly my two 8 foot home made stunt kites because I have multi adjustment point on the bridle to tame them down in high gusts. Attached a 3 inch flap to the trailing edge to slow it down but all it did was make it very loud and interesting sounds. Good times!
  20. Well written. Couldn't agree more. That good spectra line sure is expensive. I use dyna ? Something because it's way cheap and not too stretchy for my dual line stunters. I use lightest weight linen or regular monofilament fighter line from India. A friend from there brought me back a large spool that will last a few life times. Have seen the glass impregnated line at the Indian kite festivals. Wow do they always leave the park looking like a trash dump site. Totally disrespectful and no f ing excuse for that. Let them trash their own place.
  21. Hey Black star. Been a while. How did the one turn out you made first? The La Virus seems like a pretty advance trickster. Looks about 8 foot. Made 2 that big. Both fly really different but in a good way. One is very twicky and over reacts which I like. Other more ballet and easy going. Added a flap of fabric along the trailing edge to make it very noisy. Lots of fun when the winds are high.Good luck with the build. Post a picture.
  22. It's actually difficult to make them that small that fly great. One out of 3 fly good. Super thin bamboo spine and even thinner cross spar. Mostly use extra thin mylar. Try making a few. It's actually pretty easy. All mine have a 3 point bridle to adjust it to spin left and right. Have Fun.
  23. Just remembered that dragon style kites fly better when stacked. Very little sewing so give it a try. It's going to fly great?
  24. That dragon kite is really easy to build and fly. It's got a spar across the horizontal attached to a pocket on the ends. Easy , just cut out a similar shape and attach the rod. Micro carbon or bamboo or whatever you can think of. Wood dowel, coat hanger wire, etc. The shape can be concave or convex. I'm sure you know from Dreaded Geometry. Better than Calculas based Statistics. Beat of a course. If it doesn't fly concave switch it backwards. No real rules in kite making and designing, except HAVE FUN! 🤗
  25. The tiny kites need a little bit more wind. 10 mph is enough. Super fast and spinny at 20+. I like flying them on shot lines usually but they can go up as high as you have string. Have a clear plastic fighter too. It's funny because you can't see it high up and people think you are fake flying nothing. Well I kind of act like I might be doing that sometimes anyway. What?
