Exult
That this is very well piloted goes without saying. However a question: When being at the top how was the wind quality? I mean air get forced along the ground over the top which could cause turbulence.
JWharton
Lots of turbulence from the wind rolling up the hill, probably about 7 to 12 mph, but smooth it was not, I kind of like the wind like that don't get me wrong I like those smooth onshore winds at the coast they just get predictable, I like a challenge. I think it takes both kinds. Variety is the spice of life. As an inland flier used to flying where moment to moment varies by 5-10 mph, I tire of the rough stuff. Although they're many months between getting out there, I love getting to the beach with smooth predictable wind. As posted by a neighbor when we flew together: The beach with smooth, flat winds is my rare experience. Right now I'd love a day at the beach with silky smooth winds. 1

But the chart is missing the wind values from the moment you decide to go flying and pack your stuff in the car. During this period the wind is "silky smooth". As soon as you get out of the car and stand on the field, your neighbour's chart is correct.
