John Barresi Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 One primary spot in Tokyo... Kasai, very close to Tokyo Disney. Local kite shop - http://kiteworld-jp.com/ Owned by a good friend of mine, Akiyoshi Odagawa, or "Aki-san" as I know him. Get in touch with him, and he'll get you squared away with other flying sites. Also, you should feel free to reach my fiance Takako, who lives in Tokyo (until Sep/Oct or so), she can also assist... Just send her a PM. Quote
Litsong Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 as little as i know, i have my full respect for team Air-Rex: people are all really nice there and their flying is inspiring. we have been to Tokyo Bay Flight Party (the location John gave you on the link) for the past two years and it was really a good place to hang out, fond memory. in the past, when i was looking for information about Uchinada kite festival.. Yamashita san of Air-Rex had been very kind and helpful. i also have a friend Larry who lives in Tokyo and focus on miniature kite making and flying, Larry is more a traditional kiter and some kiters in his kite club specialize in KAP, if you are interested, let me know. i will put you in contact with him. good journey to Tokyo... Do you know who else in kite flyer Tokyo? Quit hard to find...(due to communication barrier sigh =(... trying to create one club...(actually not really a club just for fun..) http://koganeikoenkiteclub.blogspot.com Cheers all! Quote
John Barresi Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Hi Nazu, welcome to the Kitelife forum! Many of the fliers in Tokyo fly at Kasai, not far from Tokyo Disney... It's my usual flying field when I'm there with Takako. Two Tokyo contacts... http://www.geocities.jp/airrex_y/ (Tamura-san) http://kiteworld-jp.com/ (Odagawa-san) Those two points of contact should put you in touch with the Tokyo kite "scene". Quote
