shaggybirdman Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 hi there everyone. my name is Jerry. i started flying back in 2006 i think it was. left but now im back again. im into kites (imagine that) , but i like Cody kites the best. also like 1 line, 2 line, 3 line, and 4 line. i think i prefer the para sail over the framed kites, but kites are kites to me. i'll fly/try any kite. I'm also into rc sailboats, land yachts, quads, helicopters, and planes. one would think im outside all the time, but time hasn't been my best friend. you name a joint and it probably hurts, BUT i intend on getting out and moving more this year. ask me how its going in a year from now. LOL! hopefully ill say great. i got 3 new kites coming as i type.in hand a HQ symphony beach 1.8 mango 2 line foil, coming a HQ Rush V 250 pro 3 line foil, Prism Snapshot 2.5 Speed 2/4 line Foil, and a small 1.5 low end foil.. i have another probably 6 or so framed stunt kites. and believe it or not harbor freight used to (maybe still does ) sell a framed stunt kite witch believe it or not fly's just as good as my name brand kites! well that's it in a nut shell. I'm back. 1 Quote
RobB Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Welcome back, Jerry. I like to fly them all, too. I don't have a Cody yet, but totally understand the appeal. You mention Land Yachts as an interest, are you talking windsufers with wheels or Cadillacs ? Quote
shaggybirdman Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 you must be around my age to remember caddy land yachts. actually im talking radio control land yachts. 3 wheeled boat without the hull and a sail. check out http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=76851 thats what i have at the moment. got plans for 2 larger ones with 6' sail Quote
SHBKF Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Welcome Jerry, glad you made it back. I too like to fly all types of kites. I am especially fond of the big foils. When you get to five meters & beyond you need to be extra careful. Even the 2.5 Snap Shot can be quite a handful. Things can get pretty exciting with the gusty inland winter winds around these parts. shaggybirdman Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 im hoping to make it a longer stay this time. i like the foils due to less worry about breaking the kite. looking forward to my rush V 250 pro, due this Friday, and my prism snapshot 250. it can be either a 2 line, or 4 line. that's due by next week Friday. im a big guy (380 6'4") so i probably wont get dragged around too bad. just hope my shoulders don't get destroyed. mite be good therapy though.
