Tubbs Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 I've seen a video of someone flying a rev and they make it seem like its walking. Is this a hard thing to do? Can someone tell me how to do it? Thanks in advance Tubbs. Quote
John Barresi Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 It's sort of like doing a "mini launch" with one side at a time, and then pushing the reverse on that side.... So, thumb back fairly hard (launch motion) quickly followed by pinky down (reverse), do this with the right hand, then the left, then the right, etc. Quote
audioRob Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Pretty much what john-the-rev-master said, thumb back followed by thumb forward on the right hand, then left.. If you look at your hands while you're doing it, it looks a lot like a dance move you'd see one one of the brady bunch cast do Quote
Jason Paul Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 One more thing - you have to walk backward. Your lines stay the same length, so to make the kite actually walk, you have to walk. And as mentioned, make sure you rotate your thumbs back when you take a "step". Jason Quote
John Barresi Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 One more thing - you have to walk backward. ROFL - Can't believe I missed that little detail. Yeah, what Jason said. Quote
Dorsal Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 btw, if you can find the "Revolution Advanced Flying Video", Dave Shenkman explains that trick and demos it fully. He has it at his store at this link, but you might find it elsewhere also. I think it was made in NTSC only, not PAL. Quote
monkey Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Schenkman's Advanced video is great stuff, I learned a lot off of that one when it came out Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Unless he's talking about walking the kite in the air? Walk across, up, down, reverse in all the same directions. Tip to tip. Example: Walk down. Facing 9:00 on tip. Release the top wing, so it turns down to 3:00 while you hold the lower wing on spot. Now your lower wing is the top. Release it while you hold hold the bottom on spot. Stop it, (pushing down with your thumb when it's facing 9:00 A reverse walk down, walk up and across are very easy for most. A reverse walk across is the most difficult of the walks. Walk and Roll! BB Penny Quote
Tubbs Posted November 22, 2005 Author Report Posted November 22, 2005 It sounds fairly simple to do and i've never even flown a rev. I now have conformation of getting my rev EXP for christmas. any ideas on what colour to get, there are a few I want to choose form but i can't decide which one. It's between pink/ blue or blue/red or black/red. what are your ideas? Quote
John Barresi Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Out of those three, my personal taste runs towards the Red/Black combo. Remember though, opinions are like... Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 I'm a pink and purple kind of girl. The red/Blue avitar you have looks good. BB Penny Quote
audioRob Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Red black is my favorite as well (next to my pet yellow black, but red black is way cooler on a rev) Quote
Mike Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 Red and Black for me too. Here's my daughter with the red & black and here's the stack flying her: Quote
