  2. Howdy all. My name is Bob and I live in the Oklahoma City area. I'm retired military. Got started in kites on a trip to Seattle to do some software work with Boeing in 1991. I was on a 90 day TDY (temporary duty in Air Force speak) and was looking for something to do while I was there. Every beach and park was filled with kites, so I figured that was the in thing. I picked up a 6' Flexifoil Stacker and was in business. I liked it so much, the next week I went back and bought two more. Right now in stunt kites I have the three Flexi's (yep, still have them), a Skynasaur Aerobat, a Fire Dart, and 2.7 meter Thunderfoil. Single line kites include a Star Box Kite, Cody Pro Box Kite, 6' Conyne Delta, HQ Power Sled 3.0, 9' ITW Leviatation Delta, and a Prism Bora 7 inbound via mail. I'm going to be retiring in a couple years, so I'm whittling down the hobbies to the final 3 or 4 for retirement, and kites made the cut. My screen name is Chilihead because I am into hot peppers. I grow my own Carolina Reapers and also have some White Bullets going this year.

  3. There are a couple popular ways to get out of a roll up, assuming the lines have landed on the LE in such a way where there is still some control (yoyo stoppers keep the lines in this area - miss and its usually a crap shoot)... 1 - In the roll up, facing up, GENTLY push your hands toward the kite to tilt the nose away VERY slightly, then immediately bring both hands firmly down to your hips... This should do the job. 2 - Flying straight down (having made a wider than usual turn to get there in the roll up) with your hands back near your hips, about 25'-50' up, from the ground - quickly throw your hands way out and straight toward the kite with medium to large speed / power, then as the kite goes nose and belly down (pancake) immediately bring both your hands back to your hips as described above - BEAR IN MIND, this exits the roll up going straight down without a ton of clearance so be ready to either turn away from the ground or snap a stall. Studying the other moves out there, there are a lot of things that can also be linked before or after these transitions, per the extended trick combos (no powered up flight - flappy spinny stuff) you may see in some of the videos from various folks.

  4. The panels are sewn now. finished that up last night. LE, Edge binding, Framing, Trimming and Bridling remain.. This is a slightly different center pattern for this design. I went an additional diagonal from the previous pattern and I think it makes the center "bend" the eye a bit more.

  5. some people told you already: manufacture recommendations are more than informative an are not valid for two people. let say the manufacture have a master flyer for testing and with 3 wraps frame will give you 3 to 15 MPH. right? is not right because you are a beginner and at 3 MPG you will not even rise the kite and at 15 MPG will crash constantly because you do not have any control. i will not add the length of handles, the leaders knots setup, line strength and length ore a different frame than manufacture tested let say Sky Shark 120 witch is stiffer look at your car, they say use 87 but all the time you full the thank with 89 because you feel the car working better, they say use Micheline tires but you are happy with Handcock CONCLUSION: take all that information's INFORMATIVES. is not a rule and is not ABSULUTE. you really want that chart, i understand but to be REAL and close to reality ask Beginners on the first 3 months of fly about theirs experience, ask good flyers and see what they will say and listen Paul LaMasters, makatakam and JB witch are masters. you will have three charts for the same configuration witch will overlap from masters to beginners fly range is like stile, something individual depending by conditions a lot more complex than the wind speed and sail/frame characteristics Is my opinion after 4 years of all kind Rev, Eliot,, Oskusa, Freilein and many more
