  1. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. A brand new Djinndoor (your choice of stock color combo) from Kite Forge, projected $325 value! Final color combinations have not been confirmed yet, but these are looking like the likely choices: == NOTE: This is exactly the same line indoor quad line kite that I fly myself... It works best on 10-12 ft 50# lines, normal 13" quad handles, in 0-3 mph. We should be able to ship from existing inventory when a winner is drawn, worst case should be 1-2 weeks for restock. You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/405, and will be drawn on December 10th, 2022! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!

  4. Common line length is anywhere from 80' to 120', in 90 lb test, LaserPro is by far the preferred brand for its strength and long term durability, good overview here: Lots more tutorials here - http://learnkites.com == And absolutely MUST KNOW stuff for managing your lines: == The handles you're looking for are referred to as "13 inch handles", and you should be positive they come with "leaders" (the knotted length at the top for tuning the kite's performance) as it can be a pretty rough experience without the ability to tune. Example below. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that my own shop Kite Forge sells both handles and line sets.

  7. Hi kite guys and gals, I like all kites, but I enjoy making the paper-and-stick variety.I've been making and flying kites off and on since 1999 or so. I've made Korean fighter kites, Scott and Grauel sleds, Thai serpent kites, and Chinese circle kites. I'm now getting back into kites for the first time in 10 years or so. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's kite photos, and reading the back issues of Kitelines magazine.
