  1. Sorry forgot @matterdaddy in my name list but you were in drawing. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  2. Congratulations to Mikelp3586! I will send you a message soon for color choice and address. I will copy Happyspoon too! May good Karma be with you... @mikelp3586@exult@zachprism01@makatakam@paramedic @edmond dragut@browndude3649@robb@drdemonx Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  3. So is it economics that make it challenging for teams, or folks like yourself growing older and having families (seems like you grew up in the sports highlife), or lack of enthusiastic flyers or same group of flyers just getting older? Seems like I have come into the sport when it's fizzling but striving to remake itself. Community based fun with competition subset. Don't want to start a thing, just self interest. 4. Totally reflects top flyers I observed at ODSKC this year. Fortunately or not also reflects the wind conditions near me and my reasoning for practicing zero wind to top of window and glide recover. Need a spin or two in glide back to starting point like you and Fletch! I am becoming a fair flyer, over enthusiastically trying to absorb and learn. Just want to have fair winds and fun competing once before winter sets in. Thanks Paul! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  5. These are great references too! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  6. Reminder - drawing tomorrow so get your Karma on and sign up! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  7. Thanks Y'all! Love some of the comments and comparisons! With a limited bag of tricks and routine, does it matter if you cut something like "Raiders" to a two minute thirty second selection? I was advised keep it short and sweet and try not to repeat although I can repeat a flappy wing on the end of the window with flare and repetition! Seems like the judges may wonder where's the rest? I want to have fun flying the few patterns I know and highlight with some music peaks. Find a glide or two and escape without knotting up. [emoji51][emoji12][emoji3] Thanks again! 8. Just got my room booked. First baby step will be in NJ... NMB. Thanks to the ODSKC flyers who made me feel at home on the field observing along with Paul, Fletch and JB who inspire me to be better each flight. Now to put some time in. Suggestions on novice music? Short and sweet and keep it simple. Coming from heart of Blue Ridge Mountains I thought some fast pickin blue grass would shock NJ folks into at least turning their heads to see what's going on??? Get in, get out and leave em screaming "move up"! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  9. Just flashed to Caddyshack and Rodney's cart - LOL! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  10. LOL, I am the same way, by the time I bring cooler, canopy, chair, kites, boom box and sink I need help! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  11. Beer cooler weighs to much! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  12. Big personality with skills, reminds me of some brain surgeons I know. Lots of "personality" but I want them in my corner and on my team. Being a new quad flyer and limited to rev flyers around my area I have to say I like the LeMasters strut while flying. I watch JB sometimes and am worn out. I also know that wind speed and type of flyer they are has a lot to do with it. I am looking forward to working with JB in Sept and learning some new technique to mimic and slowly develop my own funky chicken to bring to the party. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  13. Sorry for duplicates, error and did not know posting... Yes it was at ODSKC that I decided a Zen needed to be in my bag. Just felt right. Seems like that's the winds I have had to fly with since then too. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  14. A fellow I recently met kept saying "you gotta want it", so today, with my new Zen, I worked on recovering that 50' and gliding! I wanted it enough to get it but whew! It's thick out here on the east coast. Thanks Paul for making me see the work pays off! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  15. Reminder - just six more days to get into the next Karma drawing! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  16. When my kids were small I transitioned from ghetto blaster sized shoulder mounted video cameras to a Sony Handy Cam which uses dvd's to record on. It's about the size of a good deli sandwich. Now video is a capability in almost everything that takes pictures. 1080 HD on my phone is better quality and convenient plus is with me most of the time. My wife was the camera nut and shot everything that went by. Without her being able to get around much now, I use a Gorillapod so I can adapt to the angle and conditions I am in to shoot things. Video is fun but phone modes like time lapse are fun to play with too. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  17. Thanks for the kind offer but sweetening the pot is plenty from my perspective@Happyspoon, I found I had two kites and there is someone out there needing to fly one of them! I hope to learn dual line on the other. This will be a sweet grab bag for someone. Looking forward to learning more about your project too! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  18. Fun kites to fly! I wish I had some more dual line stunt skills to really appreciate these beauties! Both are in excellent shape. Maybe someone around the old dominion can show me some stuff once the hot air moves on and it's fun to be outside more than five minutes. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  19. The next Karma drawing up for grabs is the choice of a Red or Nebula Blue Prism 4D Ultralight Dual Line Stunt Kite. Each kite is only slightly used with minimal flight time. Choose from Nebula Blue or White - drawing is for one kite only, not both! NOTE: Since this is a restart, @John Barresi is also including a one-year subscription to KiteLife for the winner, either new or renewal. Example in flight: Since this is a KARMA restart, and don't we all need a little more? I expect plenty of friendly discussion on why each of you should win however I am going to let the RNG select the winner on August 12, 2016. 5 PM EST. Enter with "I'm in" per the usual procedure. Good luck everyone and let the winds be with you! Standard Karma Note from the Moderators This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling. These drawings are run by and for KiteLife forum members and DO NOT require a paid subscription to enter. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife forum member from the US or Canada, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber. Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread: http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/ The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares entry into the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post. Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with the entry phrase chosen by the drawing host (Traditionally "I'm in", but "I LIKE" has been used as well). In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with the phrase will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all.

  23. I just picked up Lolly's last "in stock" Zen which was 15% off with their sale! Tough decision but may be a while before Bazzer's Pheonix indoor/SUL will be available. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  24. Hzakite - the best thing so far is a snow sled similar to a boogie board but more surface area for cooler, chairs, etc and is light and Dotson trunk of car. Slippery over most all surfaces. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
