I'm with ya Wayne I'm just trying to expand my collection of relevant equipment without breaking the bank. I really want to try flying my full vent B in lower winds, hopefully the lighter rods will help with that... I also want to try what Paul suggested with a hybrid frame. I wouldn't say I'm chasing equipment, I definitely don't have an endless supply of cash. That's why I originally asked if P90's are an acceptable substitute at $25 compared to $130 Diamonds. However, I am trying to cover as much of the wind range as possible so I can fly whenever the opportunity presents itself. I need all the practice I can get. Thanks for your input Mak. The main reason I wanted Diamonds is so I can get proficient in very light winds. I also wanted to try them in my full vent B in low/moderate winds. I'm not quite at the 'yank and spank' level of flying yet, lol. My only hesitation is that I'm not sure I want to mess with cutting rods to size and gluing ferrules. Being a relative newcomer to the Rev (Quad) world, I'm quite pleased with my standard B and I'm sure the full vent B that I recently acquired will be great as well (haven't had the opportunity to fly it yet). If I ever happen to find a large sum of money under my mattress or something, I would love to get my hands on a Phoenix pro and/or a Shook mesh. A guy can dream... I flew for a couple hours in the grass at the north end of FT Monroe on Sunday. Pretty strong N wind courtesy of the tropical storm. It was a bit strong for my standard B. Here is the final chapter in my Reflex saga. Lolly happily agreed to swap my Reflex for a B-series. I received it yesterday. It's not that I wasn't happy with the kite itself, I'm sure it's a great kite. I was more unhappy with myself for not doing enough research and making a better decision about where to start my quad journey. Lolly was very understanding and made the swap with no problem. I seriously appreciate everyone's feedback. I know coddling the new guy is probably not your favorite thing to do... All I wanted to do was start the very long path toward learning how to do all the cool stuff in John B's (and others) videos and eventually getting good enough to do group flying. I flew the 1.5 and I was hooked. Then came along the Reflex demo and I was told by Rev that was the kite I needed. Can anyone honestly say, if you had a complete noob that was just starting out and wanted to buy their first Rev, that you would insist on them buying a Reflex...?
