Oh my ! Has John gone nuts ? Golly, and I believe that I'm back in, for this one ? YES!! I'll just be waiting, though ! And I was just about to pull the trigger, on a new vented. Oh, what to do, what to do ?

I think everyone, likewise, has their own favorite line length, but as I make up all my own line-sets, I've got several different lengths, that I make up in each of the different strengths. I normally make all of my flight lines (both dual & quad), in 50 pound, 90 pound, and 150 pound tests. For the quads, in each of those strengths, I'll usually make up four different lengths. My length preferences are 50 foot, 80 foot, 100 foot, and of course, 120 foot, with 100 being my go-to line, most of the time. As in my original post, I use the 50 pound lines with my B2 & Rev II standard sails. I normally use the 90 pound lines with the 1.5's, and the 150 pound with the Rev I's, or with the 1.5's, should I want to slow them down a bit. I'm sure that everyone has their own length / strength combination, that works best for them depending on the conditions. As for B2 "length" recommendations, in 50 pound test line, I'd suggest a 50 foot short set, and then you'll have to decide on a 100 or 120 foot set, for your long lines.....(if only one set, I'd get 100 foot).......but that's a personal preference, and I'm sure others will comment further, so just get one of each (I suppose that we are wondering away from the main topic here, but it's all good, I suppose)

Just vote ! No donations for this one ! You already picked up a set of greenies, didn't you ?
-
During a recent discussion, under another heading, the subject came up, concerning line strength, and which to use with the B2. I was wondering what many of you, have found to be best suited, or most appropriate, for each of the different versions of the B2, or your Rev II (std, mid & vtd). Please feel free to vote in the poll, for each configuration that you are familiar with, and for both the B2 and the Rev II, should you have either, or both. Also, please share any comments that you will, below. As for myself, I have never used anything other than 50 pound test, on my standard sail B2, or on my standard sail Rev II, so I would really be interested to hear what everyone else is using.......thanks This topic may have been discussed, somewhere back in the archives, but if so, I couldn't find it.

Hey Rob ! My sentiments exactly. I've never had so much fun with a kite, as I do with my B2, and I have never flown it with anything, other than "black race rods" and 50# LPG (usually 85 - 100 foot, but I've also got 50 & 120 foot lengths that get used on occasion). I ordered the kite with the race rod upgrade, and I have never really seen the need to change. Did I mention I love the speed !! (I suppose this should be under another topic, but I couldn't help commenting. We'll have Matt really messed up, if we keep talking about these B2's)

Have you been to the Revolution website, and used the "colorizer" to design your new kite. There's lot's of colors to work with ! [ http://www.revkites.com/revolution-kite-colorizer-b-pro-and-zen ] You should be able to do that at home, and then take your design to your local dealer. It's a "piece of cake". Also, (and again IMHO), unless you are an accomplished seamstress, with some extensive kite making experience, I would think long and hard, before "whipping out the old sewing machine", especially on a brand new Rev B-Pro EDIT: Ok, sorry, I'm getting this topic and your other topic confused...........I see that you are designing an indoor kite here, but I still don't see why your local dealer couldn't work it out, anyway you like (within reason). Good luck, and I'd still be wary of "whipping out that sewing machine" !
-
No questioning that logic, here. I was originally thinking about having just "one" kite, and trying to stretch it out, in both directions. My mistake !
-
IMHO - Mid Vent
-
Congrats Kody ! You are going to love that B2 ! Hey Wayne, you are just not treating your Luck-o-Meter right ! I told you to get it a tune-up !
-
Oh it's out of the box. It's been put together and ready to go, since I got it. I've even been out to one of my flying spots on the lake, twice, but NO wind. Our gusts have been like 2 mph. I can't even get a reading on my Kestrel, but still, when the water on the lake is like a mirror, forget about it, and no, I'm just not one of those "windless pilots".............. Worry not, though............it will fly soon !
-
I can't play ! Rules, you know !
-
That's 11,593.7 miles (yikes!), plus an hour's drive to the airport.......... But thanks for the invite, anyway !
-
That was more for Reef Runner and his new kite. Hey Rob, This afternoon, we are once again sitting on "dead" zero, oh, and it's out of the North ? (that must be the last direction it moved from) I also see that we did have a SSE gust of 3mph, sometime during the last 24 hours, and I missed it ! Sheesh ! Maybe I should send this Kymera on down to you, and let you break it in
-
As JB would say.............."send tickets" (American Airlines will do) ............
-
Will do Baloo ! Just trying to catch a moment, when it's not so cold, drizzling, or raining, and oh, a bit of breeze would be helpful..... (current winds 0 mph) You must have been way back in the cave, for the last month or so ? Addendum: Went to lake, and tried again today. Winds were gusting all the way up to 2 mph ! Finally gave up, ran for cover, and came home.......... Sorry, I'm just not a "windless" pilot !
-
Shhhhhhhhh !
-
If only I could join in the "Banter" :cat_lol: Tisk, tisk, tisk
-
Ok now Wayne ! Be nice. The RNG is listening...............
-
-
OH NO ! That's not it, at all. There is a big difference in luck, cahoots, and injustice. "LUCK", has nothing to do with either of the latter. My Luck-o-Meter, was just that - "Pure Dumb Luck". I just thought that while it was on a roll (and I couldn't use it), I'd lend it out
-
Well, I suppose I could Fed-X mine over to you, but just for this next drawing. It's done pretty well this past month (1 out of 2, ain't bad), so it might be on a roll. You'll just have to program your number into it, and you should be good to go ps.......you can't tell John, though, he might confiscate it
-
Did you get your "Luck-o-meter" tuned up ?
-
You know Todd, you just might have something there ! Karma just might be moving your way? But don't forget, Wayne has been bantering his a_s off, on this one. So you never know about the RNG ? I wish you both, good luck. My only regret is, that #5-9-0 is exempt from this drawing C R _ P !!!
-
Hey Todd, All is good here. I really didn't think that you were upset, I was just worried that you had Wayne & I confused, and you might have been concerned about something one of us had said, but I wasn't sure which one, or what. Either way, it's not important now. We are always kidding back and forth, as I'm sure you've seen........ As for the B2 drawing........I wish you the very best of luck (but don't tell Wayne) Happy New Year !
-
No problem, but I'm a little confused here. Did you miss the part about [Yes, golly gee, "it was just a joke" .......... Now good luck to everyone, and Happy New Year] ? Worry not, though, I never thought you were angry (?), but if you are referring to the statement, [Now, now!! Don't get all grumpy and stuff!!], I'm sure that Wayne was just kidding about that ! Wayne is in Clackamas, not me ! Now as for me - YES - you are correct. I can not participate in, or win, the B2 drawing. Sadly enough, my number has to sit out for that next drawing, hence my reference to Clackamas. Now that's the rules, and I got no problems with the rules. By the way, I think my Luck-o-meter, has already done it's thing for the year, but for sure, I can still join in on the bantering So once again, "Good luck to everyone, and Happy New Year " Somebody is going to win a B2 - (but not me)
