Both...sorry for not mentioning. Today was on 13", since that is what I have used lately. As for the wind, always a guess without a meter..my ear hairs don't jiggle with the head phones on, but i think John pretty well hit it on the head.
Yep, when I first began with the Rev II, I put it up, on a set of 13" handles [ BIG MISTAKE ]. One day, up on the dunes, I was flying a 1.5 B-series, and the wind was cooking pretty good that day, so I decided it would be the perfect time to try out that new Rev II that was in my bag. So, the easiest change over was to simply stake the B-series, walk to the kite, disconnect from the lines, re-attach the Rev II in it's place, and give it a shot. Talk about "over-control". What the heck was going on ? I thought I had gone "brain numb", and forgotten how to fly (?). I was clueless as to what was going on, and really thought that something was wrong with the kite. So, after several "completely out-of-control" maneuvers, plus a string of "unscheduled landings", along with quite a bit of embarrassment, I finally got that Rev II, safely back on the ground, and into the bag. The bag is where that kite stayed for a good 3 - 4 months, before I finally got up the nerve, to try it again. When that time came [ in a "not so public" place ], I set up with the Rev supplied, 11" handles, and all of a sudden everything clicked. So that's why they put those short handles with this kite - "shorter handles equal shorter inputs". Once I understood this, and gained back my confidence, I've become quite fond of the little Rev II, and especially when the wind is really cooking. Of course, this all lead me to the "B2", and now, after learning that initial lesson, the hard way, I am able to fly and control the Rev II, or the B2, with either set of handles.
