I have the smallest of the HQ Symphony Beach's, think it's 1.3 or 1.4. It is great value. Even my kids fly it. Pull is very light so I'd prefer a bigger size. The finished product is really good. Haven't seen or flown any of the others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All kites stretch over time. The B series sail was design with this in mind. The panel layout channels the wind to help with precision. Supplemental note: revs will fly even when the sail is pretty much see through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just saw on FB that you (Frankieflying) did an awesome job at the FOTW. On the Indoor-a-like when the wind was gone, up and down the beach. Playing to the crowd when the wind was there. Way to go mate! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fly it to feel, it has to feel right to you. I still get different set ups a try, just to see. If you give the "other" settings a go and don't like them, go back. First and foremost flying should be fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Top knot closer to handles makes your top lines shorter. Most have bottom lines very close to the handles and the top lines connected about 6-8-10 inches from the handles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll preface this with the fact I fly very brake heavy... A sail will be, in relation to the wind, how you tilt it with the handles. Handle top rotated towards kite puts the top behind the bottom. Handle top rotated away from the kite puts the top in front of the bottom. Short or long leaders, the kite rotation determines drive/reverse. By lengthening your top lines you are effectively reducing the amount of drive rotation you can input. BUT. You are putting your sail squarer to the wind and create the maximum amount of surface area presented to the wind. With the sail at "max size to the wind" only a small amount of drive combined with a slight amount of #whump compresses the sail and creates drive until you stop it. However, with longer top lines means you can effectively give a greater amount of reverse input. Be careful of that. If your handles are the standard 13's you can try this one thing to give extra brake. Take the bottom leaders off the hog clips and larks head them to the last knot on your tops. Attach your bottom lines directly to the hog clips like you would with dualie straps. Attach your top lines to the last (furthest away from your handles) and try to launch inverted. If you can't launch, bring your top lines in to the next knot and try again. It will feel a little strange. It will take a bit of getting used to. Give it a try for at least 15 minutes. If you don't like it, put everything back. Not everybody flies with a lot of brake. Sometimes it's taxing on their wrists. But try it and see. Clearer as muddier?? PM me you phone number and I'll talk you through. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sometimes I'll walk around at work snapping my wrists in sequence while visualising the kite. Helps, not sure if it's working but it helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks JB!I suspect you are flying on the original short leaders with the hog clip attachment. There is also a thread, I forget which forum as they are starting to blend!, about getting rid of the bottom hog clip and putting in a "rawl plug" and wood screw. This reduces the chances of snagging a line with the bottom tip of the handle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does the Freebird have a ferrule inserted into both ends that go into the centre T? My Jammin does. Might need some ferrules as well as 6mm rods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No, they will be more reactive as your sail will be more perpendicular to the wind. I'll dig up the "my leaders your thoughts" thread from the rev forum. Explains well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll comment... The slides on the vert bottoms look pretty cool. Great spot with plenty of onlookers. I noticed your handles are very upright, have you thought about letting out your top leader lines? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yep, just skimmed through it Wayne. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Std handles are 13". I'd have to measure my Indoor ones but they could be 14" but the bend is less pronounced. That is, they are straighter... A set of diamond frames will work with your full sail skins to use in zero wind as an alternative to an Indoor. Also, putting a short pig tail on the top and bottom of each vertical makes the 1.5's closer to behaviour to an indoor. Be careful though as there isn't a bridal to spread the load. Can feel pretty weird when you fly it first but you get used to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sometimes Zero wind is the only wind I get. The majority of my flying is over tar, at night in a Carpark when there isn't a breath. Kind of got my Indoor out of necessity. I do love the groan sounds from the kite, the gentle rustle it makes when it get thrown around in the still of the night. I'm still a young pup on it really. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After a 180* rotation, turn up and pull in to power and glide a complete arc "up and over". Then you can rotate in the opposite direction. Use the full area to your advantage. Zero wind is all direction flying. Good for the heart and soul. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure about Vortice. Phoenix Kite Collective, essentially started up in Qld when one of the founders, Baz Poulter, moved to Oz. they have got a regular 4 that fly out of the Redcliffe Kite Club. They are having their "Kite Fest" this weekend if you can get along. Great bunch of people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Two teams come to mind; Vortice, & The Phoenix Kite Collective. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes. The Karma is a manual entry. The special drawings are usually a raffle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
If you have the room, and the wind. It will allow a bit more "room" for things to happen. It will feel different but you won't take long for it to feel natural. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They are pretty cool. I like the zero wind stuff. The double speed ones aren't my cup of tea but I can still appreciate the skill. Been flying nearly 3 years. Pretty sure. Don't get out as much as I'd like but squeeze in flights here and there. Lots of car park flying on my Indoor rev. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah mate. Checked out most. Can relate to "playing with the kids". I do that a lot! There are a couple of festivals in Brissie coming up. Should try and check them out. I'll be at the one end of September. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally, I'd go a B2 Std but add some magic sticks to it. Mine came with a 2 and 3 wrap frame. Above 20+mph I'll change to the 3 wrap frame. But by then it's more like a light sabre! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
