  1. I want one! Seriously, if you ever put those into production, post it here. I'll buy one. Heck, can you imagine a stack of those?
  2. Very cool! What is the sail made of?
  3. Yep! http://www.cafepress.com/kitelife Great stuff! Are there ads for this here on the site that I missed?
  4. I'm sure if you win, you'll put up something great! Now, I'm relatively new to kiting in a lot of ways, being solo and in a kiting desert, so what is a Benson Gemini and why does it sound special?
  5. That'll do it.............. , but let's not kid around, with "Mother Nature" No kidding here! By the time they get up here, it's usually only wind and rain left. Usually the day before the rain hits, and 2 days after, I get the best winds we ever get here! Not to make light of big storms...Sandy really did some damage last year on the coast, but other than some minor flooding from heavy rains near me, the only real effect for my town was great flying weather as the low pulled out.

  7. I want to put up my Hypnotist in 15-20 mph winds and really give that tail a workout, The one time I had it up only the first half of the tail fully inflated. Maybe now that hurricane season is coming...
  8. I just looked back at the original rules post and realized that this wasn't clear. I always intended this to be for all forum members, but would also like to point out that there are great benefits to being a subscriber, and supporting a site that supports kiters. The tutorials alone are worth the price of admission..
  9. Unfortunately I may have contributed to this by putting up this prize, but I really don't have anything to put up. I suppose I could have made another railroad spike and golf ball kite stake... You know what would get me to join in again? A kite bag. All of my kites are in the bags that they came in, and they're all seperate. I would love one of those roll up, multi kite bags. Hats are always good, too. Does KiteLife have hats or shirts? In short, if you want the kite, and you have something in your bag (or a bag!) that someone else could use, join in! If you don't have something to put up, but want the kite and are willing to get something to put up...a tail, a kite stake, a hat, a tee shirt... join in! It's all good! (Karma)
  10. Maybe 2 50' ribbons and I can put them on my Rev...
  11. Yeah, my bridle was set in "light wind" mode. I may get a long ribbon tail for lighter winds. Did you say what kite you were flying it with?
  12. Well, I just got my gift certificate in the mail, and immediately called Eliot at Flying Smiles. We had a nice talk, and I ordered a new set of snagless Rev handles. Now I can leave handles hooked up and won't have to change them all of the time. I fly on 50' lines a lot due to wind conditions, and i fly 30' almost anywhere there's wind. I'll post pics when I get them, maybe flying somewhere cool! Randy
  13. I agree with pretty much everything being said here. I think John is right and this discussion is going to help. I, for one, would love to see some more unique items go up. I have some ideas for future karma if I'm ever in the position to put up something again, but I'll have to work on them. I have a bit of a challenge that may get this going in that direction. My challenge is (and I'm putting myself in it) to put something up that will get JB to join. I don't really think that anything I can buy at a kite shop will do it since he probably has more kites than most shops already. It will take something different. I know I failed this time, but if I gat another chance, watch out!
  14. Exactly right! Anything that might add to a kiter's enjoyment is kite related in my book!
  15. Funny you say that. One of the things that suprised me about my tail was the weight of the fabric. It is significantly heavier fabric than the fabric in any of my kites. The tail, along with the very nice attached heavy duty swivel, weigh in at about 360 grams! My Hypnotist flies it well starting at about 10 mph. I can fly it at 8mph but it's work and I have to move around.
  16. Xtra-vent?? You know something we don't?? No, but with all of these great Revs going up, I figure it's just a matter of time before we see one.
  17. New Karma is up, with a bonus for many future Karma winners! I'll post pics when I get a chance to order...something.
  18. Wow, we came full circle! Time for some new blood. Up for grabs is a new Prism Nexus in your choice of color! Like many here, my kite bag is on the small side, so I don't really have much to give away, and I already did a line set, sooo... I needed to purchase my prize to put up. I just got off of the phone with Theresa at The Kite Shoppe and she agreed to do something pretty special for us, and this thread. From now on, any of you winners that need to purchase something to pass forward in your Karma giveaway can order it from Theresa at The Kite Shoppe and you will get a 10% Karma discount on any non-custom item. Just call her up, buy the item you're putting up as a prize, and when you have the drawing have the winner contact her with a mailing address and she'll ship it out! That is how you'll get your choice of color for this Karma. Theresa has already pulled the 3 colors available and will send the lucky winner which ever color they choose! So, who wants a new stunt kite! Just post "I'm in" and you're in the running. I have to send out a special thanks to Theresa for agreeing to do this for us and for this thread. I can feel the Karma flowin'!
  19. Wow! That popped up while I was typing. Kinda freaky that I actually won something since I never do...at least not games of chance. Maybe there's more to this karma thing than I thought... Now I need to come up with another Karma prize... I had something in mind, but I was gonna make it and I don't have time right now. I'll have to think of something else...stay tuned!
  20. Big day and another great giveaway! I can feeel the Karma flowing.
  21. I would try giving them a call. I recently ordered a bunch of small parts from them and the shippinng was reasonable.
  22. ...meanwhile, Reef furiously edits his last three posts...
  23. These inland winds really need a mid-vent sometimes. If the RNG sees fit to send it my way, I won't be upset if the Extra-vent goes to someone on the coast. It would just be good Karma.
  24. "good, good, good! Good Vibrations-bop- bop" Hardly an east coast thing! "Gotta keep those lovin good vibrations A happenin with her" Sounds like good Karma to me!
