Cool stuff, eh?

It's always safe to assume the following...

When I call "GO"... You fly in the direction your leading edge is facing.

When I say "to the edges", your leading edge is facing one edge of the window and you fly that way.

What makes quad team easy is that every turn is prefaced with simple instructions, and then a "GO" for you to execute it.

Example (assume a group of 8):

To start... "All kites in horizontal line, facing up." at which point we all hover in a line, facing up... #1 on the right, last kite on the kite.

"90 degree anti-clockwise pinwheel...... GO!"

This puts us in a vertical line, facing left.

"All kites face up... GO!"

"Odd kites face right, even kites face left... GO!"

"To the edges... GO!"

"STOP!" (when kites reach the edges)

"180 in place.... GO" (to face back in towards the center)

"GO" (in the direction your leading edge is facing, to center)

"STOP" (when kites reach the same vertical line)

"All kites face up... GO!"

"90 degree anti-clockwise pinwheel... GO!" (all kites are now facing right, in horizontal line)

"All kites face up... GO!"

"Big ball... GO!" (all kites collapse to ball)

"Slow burst... GO!"

"STOP!"

"Back it in... GO!" (all kites reverse back to the ball)

"Back to line... GO!" (all kites back to horizontal line facing up)

"Two groups of 4, to ball... GO!" (two balls of four)

"Slow burst... GO!" (two balls do a burst side by side)

Etc, etc... You get the idea.

It's easier than you might think, and you'll all catch on fast. :kid_smartass:

Also, by the time the week is over... You'll be much more skilled, something about team flying has this effect. :blushing:

"Open coolers... GO!" (all kiters open their coolers)

"Grab beers... GO!" (all kiters grab a refreshment)

"Open Caps... GO!" (hopefully a twist off Wienhards)

"Slow gulp... GO!" (tilt and enjoy)

It's easier than you might think, and you'll all catch on fast. :blushing:

I have no doubt whatsoever.

What is with the f90 degree anticlockwise?

Isn't it easier to call face 9:00 anit-clockwise, or pivot clockwise, etc.?

The reason I say this is because of past experiences where people who didn't know what a 360 counter clockwise or 90 degree clockwise, was, or where it started from.. ie. facing 12:00 or where we're facing down, did NOT speak up to say they did not understand. We found the clock movement's much more user friendly. Just a suggestion. I can fly, or get out of the way. :kid_smartass:

Oh, and someone remind me to put some rum in my cooler. :blushing:

The key is, so much of our stuff is rotational... Degrees simply work better.

We always work in these increments... 90°, 180° and 360°.

Also, degrees are already the international standard for team quad... If we want to play well at the international events, it's crucial that we use the same terminology.

With all the people we've trained and flown with, none have had a problem with the degrees after doing a few of the moves... People learn quick when kites are coming at them, and we're patient enough to handle the learning curve. :kid_smartass:

Thanks John I can do it. But prefer clock turns and I'm open enough to state it. Now if anyone else has any problems they'll know. Anti? Anti was a new one for me. "Counterclockwise" we'd use.

See what a learning experience kiteflying is. :kid_smartass:

Hey MONK!!!!! Is it all good after you got back from Orting?

I can dig it Penny. :blushing:

But, to be sure we're on the same page... We will sometimes say "clockwise clockwork", which means 1/4 turns in place, one at a time, in a clockwise direction... The same for anti-clockwise, but like, reversed. :kid_smartass:

"Anti" is a European thing... Again, trying for a standard... But you'll often hear me say "counter clockwise" as well.
