spencerpdx Posted December 9, 2020 Report Posted December 9, 2020 So, I’ve got this 30 year-old fighter that came with a marking tape tail for those days when you just want flying to be easy. The tail attaches to the kite with Velcro and over the years the tail has gotten shorter and shorter. I ordered some Presco brand marking tape, but wasn’t sure what type of adhesive might be best to try to add a small square of Velcro to it might be. Anyone here have experience with this type of tape and tail attachment? Or other recommendations? Quote
spencerpdx Posted December 14, 2020 Author Report Posted December 14, 2020 Well, for now I'll be testing with just sticky-backed velcro and see how it goes. Quote
makatakam Posted December 14, 2020 Report Posted December 14, 2020 It's made from PVC. Crazy glue should work fine. The sticky-back velcro will probably work as long as you use enough area to withstand the shear force generated by the drag on the tape and its weight. Quote

Or other recommendations? A few largish stitches with a needle and light thread would help reinforce either the sticky-back velcro or glue methods I should think, eh? Add a tinsy drop of glue to the stitches as well. (Weight c/b a factor, however.) . 1 Quote
