thercman Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 My last post was probably a little vague. So here it goes again. I currently fly a Black Rainbow Jam, a Prism Micron and a Revolution SLE. I would like to upgrade the Jam to another full size kite that is capable of tricking. I need something with a decent wind range say 3-20mph. My budget is around $150. Since I haven't been up on the new manufactures until just recently I was leaning toward a Prism E2. But since I have been looking it seems that there are also some other great quality kites out there such as Level One Kites. Please give me your recommendations. I definitely don't want junk. It doesn't have to be all that durable as I will fly it in suitable conditions. Since I will be leaving the country in a little over a week I would like to order one in the next day or two..... Thanks! Greg Quote

The Level One Jumping Jack Flash is awesome, but may be just above your desired budget. The Sky Burner Freestylist is also great. At around $140, there's the NTK French Connection. The Prism E2 is wonderful...as is the Hypnotist. Also, the latest from Flying Wings...the Silver Fox 2.3 or 2.5 are really hard to beat at their price! Any of those would let you get into the advanced tricks flying that you are looking for! Jim Quote
windofchange Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Uh uh uh...Silver Fox...uh uh uh. Quote
ant man Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 the silver fox is nice and i also like the prism mirage and quantom they are affordable and can take a beating . as well as good trick kites Quote
thercman Posted April 24, 2007 Author Report Posted April 24, 2007 Thanks All! I have really been checking out the Jumping Jack Flash. Of course I watched the video and it looks fantastic. Another trait I am looking for besides trickablity would be prescision. That kite seems pretty dialed in. It may be over my intended budget but you get what you pay for.... I am checking out the Silver Fox now.... Quote
JMPVW73 Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 I have a Level One Jump and I highly recomend it. I also have a Skyburner Freestylist. It was sluggish by comparison and I wasnt able to yo-yo it before breaking it on first flight. The Jump yo-yo'd on first attempt and it allows me to do all sorts of impressive things by accident. I suggest buying a used E2 due to the large number of people who have bought and grown tired of it. It is a pretty good kite but you would be better off buying an Elixir. You may be able to find a good deal on a new one if you can find a new one. Quote
windofchange Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 The Silver Fox has a unique bead system that allows you to change the bridle from a 3 point to Turbo just by re-connecting the lines to the different colored beads. 3 point gives the kite good precision and snappy turns, Turbo sets the kite a lot looser for easier slack line tricks. Awesome kite. I love mine. Quote
thercman Posted May 20, 2007 Author Report Posted May 20, 2007 After pondering many options the Jumping Jack Flash may be my next stunt kite. However I have been wanting a power/traction for 2 years now. Orignally the Ozone Samarai then the Riot and now the Riots replacement the Haka. After talking it over with the boss (wife) she let me order one. :-) Currently I am awaiting a 5m Ozone Haka in the black/orange/grey color scheme. Hopefully it will arrive Friday. Oh the anticipation is killing me..... lol Quote
Mousie Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 I LOVE my Jumpin jack standard.. it literally did the tricks for me.. I was wanting to learn more then just precision moves and it will teach you. Yes it will be a bit above what you are looking at, but after competing with it for a year now, it is well worth the extra 30 dollars (guessing here). Also, Monkey got me a jumpin jack flash sul for my birthday and oh man has that ever come in handy on many occasion. It tricks easy (much better by some of the advanced flyers of course) but it also is crisp and clean on the corners... I have found no reason as of yet to move to anything different. (except when I want more lines *winks). Talk to Theresa at the Kite Shoppe, she has been very helpful to me with alot of this stuff. hugs mousie Quote
