everest_4 Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 The French connection or the silver fox std?? Which is indeed the better kite?? Quote
John Barresi Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 I much prefer the Silver Fox... To me, the FC requires a very heavy hand to get through the tricks and doesn't combo as well. Also, the SF has way better precision when set on the 3-point bridle. Quote
VOL Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 I've never flown the FC but if I may I want to second the motion as far as precision goes. The Silver Fox 2.5 std I own and flew for the first time today was on the three point bridle and it's a pleasure to fly. No surprises, very smooth. It seems to ask: "Ok what do we do next?" Nice kite. Quote
Dorsal Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 everest - I've never flown either one, But I have seen them both flown at kite festivals and they are both well-designed kites. However, that you posted the question tells of your inexperience. Given that, your abilities will be far outstripped by either of the kites you are contemplating, so I'd suggest you buy whichever one you fancy the best or can afford. At this stage of your kite-flying abilities, it won't really matter, and all the opinions in the world won't change that - only your own time at the handles flying the kite will. Yes, I'll probably catch 7734 from a lot of people here for being so blunt, but I thought you should get the honest truth. Quote
John Barresi Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Also, it's hard to beat first hand experience... You can often test fly such kites at events, should you have the chance to attend some. Quote
