Jorge Arellano
Good day John, I hope you are having a great time. Today I received my kite from the October Contest, my sister went to California and brought it to me. Its great!!! I already assemble it and found a lot of differences compared to my other kites which are in the range of starters. I found that there is a mesh with velcro on the top, but couldnt find any information about the assembly of this in the manual or in the website from the Phoenix manufacturers, any idea about this? Also do you know if there is a VCD available for this kite? the website from Invento HQ makes reference to this. Maybe there is some hemlpful information on it. Cant wait to go out this weekend to fly it. Have a good day Jorge
John Barresi
Good to hear Jorge! Sorry we had so much trouble getting it to you directly in Mexico, but we're glad it's safely in your hands. As for details on the kite, I don't have anything... I would try posting your questions on the GWTW forum, a lot of them would be familiar with your "Phoenix Supreme" as well as whether or not there is any video available. http://gwtw-kites.com/forum/ You might also try emailing HQ directly. Please let us know how the maiden flight goes!?
Jorge Arellano
Hi John, I found some info at http://ralf.naujoks24.de/phoenix-inside-e.html and gave me a better idea of the assembly and work of the kite, also took a look at the forums of the page you gave me and found useful information too. I plan to do the maiden flight tomorrow (wind conditions allow). I will keep you posted. Have a great weekend Jorge

godric
Jorge, > there is a mesh with velcro on the top That's the spoiler, for really high wind conditions. I've seen a couple of different variations on attaching it. I have a regular Phoenix, and could take some pictures for you if you still need help with it. For normal flying, though (winds up to 30 kph or so), you shouldn't need to bother with it. When it's that windy you're meant to put the kites away, settle down in a quiet spot and open up a good cerveza ...
Jorge Arellano
Hi Godric, I found the way to attach it as it is shown in the following link: http://ralf.naujoks24.de/phoenix-inside-e.html What other variations could be done? If you a pic for this, please send it to my email is jorgearellanovital@hotmail.com. Top winds here are 20-25kph, so I think I wont use it for a while, but if the winds get stronger Im sure there are going to be some coronas in the cooler. Have a good day Jorge
godric
Jorge, The other variation I've seen attaches the stretchy loops to the bridle, so the mesh is more or less perpendicular to the sail (is the description clear, or shall I set mine up that way and post a picture to the forum?). The idea of that approach is to create a "wind shadow" that covers most of the sail, since in forward flight the wind is always moving from leading edge to trailing edge. My own view is that if the wind is blowing that hard I'm going to want that air brake secured to something more substantial than the bridle!
