hellyskiia1 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I'm working on a Kite Festival at a vineyard on Long Island. I'm trying to find local kite organizations, anyone have any suggestions as to how I can find them? (google has failed me miserably!). Thanks very much! Martha Clara Vineyards Quote

John Barresi Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Try this link for local kite clubs... http://aka.kite.org/?resource_club-map.html Local kite shop directory - http://aka.kite.org/?resource_merch-map.html Also, the AKA's regional director for New York is Greg Lamereaux, who can be reached via - region1 [at] aka.kite [dot] org It is the regional director's duty to assist people in connecting with local kite organizations, groups and resources. Hope that gets you started. Quote

Thanks very much!Martha Clara Vineyards Hey hellyskiia1, Sounds good ! I might suggest to contact Lanie from Lanie's Way in Port Jefferson. She is the closest thing to a kite shop around here. There aren't many, if any organized flying clubs on the Island. I fly all over the Island, mostly on the NorthShore. Let me know if I could be any help, but I'm just one person, and don't know too many locals into flying. ~Rob. Quote
