Try this link for local kite clubs... http://aka.kite.org/?resource_club-map.html

Local kite shop directory - http://aka.kite.org/?resource_merch-map.html

Also, the AKA's regional director for New York is Greg Lamereaux, who can be reached via - region1 [at] aka.kite [dot] org

It is the regional director's duty to assist people in connecting with local kite organizations, groups and resources.

Hope that gets you started. :kid_drool:

I'm working on a Kite Festival at a vineyard on Long Island. I'm trying to find local kite organizations, anyone have any suggestions as to how I can find them? (google has failed me miserably!). Thanks very much!

Hey hellyskiia1,

Sounds good ! I might suggest to contact Lanie from Lanie's Way in Port Jefferson. She is the closest thing to a kite shop around here. There aren't many, if any organized flying clubs on the Island. I fly all over the Island, mostly on the NorthShore. Let me know if I could be any help, but I'm just one person, and don't know too many locals into flying.
