Im new in stunt kite thing, soo i have few questions about the stunt kite. I'll just add that – in my country stunt kite flying isnt very popular thing and is very hard to find place where to buy stunt kite. So I dont have people who to ask about stunt kite thing I hope you will solve my problems. I'll also add some pictures so it's easyer to understand my trouble. Ok, here it gooooes. Few days ago I bought my 2nd stunt kite HQ-Salsa II (first was HQ-bebop). But then i found some differences in kite structure. One side is a little different, but i thinkit shouldn't be. Problem is in left side stand-off angle it's a little more inside then other one. Measure them to verify that... You want to have the tension on the sail, and it's OK for the standoffs to be bent a little bit. So, you don't want to fly with the tension released, on the first knot. The bulge you see in the sail isn't good for flying. The screws on the backside of the sail connectors are to remove them if you need to. I don't know what the length of the standoffs are supposed to be, but one of the two looks to be a few millemeters too long... Good luck ! ~Rob. Quote

You will probably find that under tension that the knot will always return to the same spot. I don't think that's an adjustment. It's hard to tell from the picture (too close), and I am not familiar with that exact kite. Quote
RobB Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Something to check on the lower spreaders... are the standoff connectors the same distance from the center T ? The standoffs should be almost 90 degrees to the lower spreaders, just slightly pushing towards the center T. Maybe that will even out your standoffs. Quote
JasonOsteo Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Hi I have a Salsa II, don't fly it much as I fly Revs but I have been impressed with it. I found the standoff attachment on the bottom spar (spreader?) to be completely different between the sides. This was easily corrected by sliding them across to be even. There is a marker on the lower spreaders to ensure you put the correct end at the centre. I haven't noticed any problems with the sail bunching around the spar attachments, or the knot you show in the picture. I will have a look tomorrow to see what is going on there. No idea about the bridle, I would leave well alone until you are proficient at flying it and then 'play'. If you do any adjustments the key rule is 'one at a time, test and form a conclusion before making any further adjustment'. Quote
laaciz Posted June 25, 2011 Author Report Posted June 25, 2011 Thanks for help. and alot of info. sail isnt bunching around, that was because I putted on first knot - http://imageshack.us...capturecsd.jpg/ edit: Problem solved problem was that sail on the left side was too over-stretched. knots on sail edges was in diffrent lengh/places, one was on 8cm, but other one 8.5cm. released a bit and both stand-offs are now the same.
