Cyphert Posted December 31, 2012 Report Share Posted December 31, 2012 so i want to try and respar one of my kites. i have seen 2 different standoff designs for this kite. one with a spar running down to the inner side spar and one with a thin bending spar from the wing to the center spar pushing the fabric into an arch. i was thinking about cutting a spall hole in the fabric and putting a whisker right in the middle. any suggestions? if it works well with one i might do a handful for a large group fly for a film im working on. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
John Barresi Posted December 31, 2012 Report Share Posted December 31, 2012 For Avenger / Hawaiian shaped kites, I think it's best to run the standoff from the bottom spreader to the batten... Cyphert Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 6, 2013 as you can kinda see this is one way they did it and it worked super well. its the newest way they did it. but i was going to just poke a hole to expose the middle side spar. then just use modern style standoffs... i have a few extras to play with.
