Jason Paul Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Since the forum was changed a few days ago, it seems I have to log in every time I come here. I have the "Remember me" box checked at login, and I'm sure I've got cookies turned on because I haven't changed anything. I get auto-logged on at all of my other forums. This has just been happening since the changes. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jason Quote
John Barresi Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Give 'er another try Jason... Log out, click on "Log In" and check the box. Close the browser, and return... Should be okay now? I messed with the settings a little, hopefully it helped. Please let me know. Quote
John Barresi Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 I also put in a request to Invision's tech support staff... It isn't clearing threads when I click "mark these topics as read" in my "new posts" area. Bear with us, I'm trying to get 'er fixed. Quote
Jason Paul Posted October 30, 2005 Author Report Posted October 30, 2005 Thanks John - it seems to be working now. Jason Quote
Jason Paul Posted October 31, 2005 Author Report Posted October 31, 2005 Hey John, No idea why, but I'm having the same problem here at work. I've popped in here 4-5 times today and have had to log in every time. Thanks, Jason Quote
John Barresi Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Grrr... We're doing one more upgrade sometime today or tomorrow, we'll see if that resolves the issue. Sorry Jason! Quote
godric Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Apparently not yet -- I'm still being greeted as Guest and prompted to log in on every visit. I use Firefox, so it's no major deal (I can tell it to remember passwords, regardless of what the site does, so getting logged in is a two-click process), but the cookie handling should still probably get fixed at some point. I can provide a list of the current cookies, their contents and expiration dates, if you're interested. Thanks again for all you do! Quote
Jason Paul Posted November 3, 2005 Author Report Posted November 3, 2005 Mine at work seems to have magically started working correctly the day before yesterday. So, I'm currently getting recognized both at home and at work - so I'm good. BTW, I'm also using Firefox. Thanks John! Jason Quote
monkey Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 I've found it hit or miss and despite reeeeeally trying a lot of different ways, I have not been able to figure out just how and why or what sequence of events leads to it. Sometimes it holds the login, others not... It was fine this morning however :-) Quote
John Barresi Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 We just upgraded the forum software yet again yesterday morning... All should be a-ok now. If not, click the "delete cookies" link at the bottom of the forum's front page, click "log in" and do so with the "remember" box checked. That should solve any lingering issues. Thanks for your patience! Quote
