photomom
Yes, Kites Unlimited and Bird Stuff has lines in a several lengths. I know they have the 120' for team flying and either 80' or 100' for sure. Don can also make a custom set if you need something special.
John Barresi
65' is fine for solo stuff, it's just the team exercises that require 120'. Some good info on the benefits of different lengths...
ACrop
I would love to see a "line making workshop" in conjunction with the clinics. It could even be run by the local shop. I would love to make some kite line, but would rather do it with someone my first time. I am guessing that to the knowledgeable making a new set of lines just takes an hour or two.
John Barresi
I can pump out a 120' line set in about 25-30 minutes... Will definitely do a tutorial on this at some point.
ACrop
Seems to me that if someone knowledgeable brought bulk supplies folks who wanted to make a line could pay by the foot and learn in an hour or so how to do it correctly. John Barresi
If someone brought supplies, we could certainly put an example set together before or after the clinic on Sat or Sun.
ACrop
Is that something I should call the local kite shop and ask about??? Would that be a reasonable thing to ask about???
John Barresi
You could if you want! A 500 ft spool would suffice for a 120' line set, need sleeving and a sleever too, as well as a winder for the new set.

Exactly, thin wire (piano or guitar) bent in half. 1 hour ago, ruthl1 said: I have a sleeving kit and sleeves if any needs. And thank you! Terrel
Thanks for the replies. I will use my 65 ft lines this weekend since I have used them since June. Definitely want to start making my own line sets though. I've seen a few youtube vids on it, and it doesn't look hard to do. :-)Sent from my SCH-I605 using KiteLife mobile app
Tim P.
If you want to have a set of 120's ready and waiting for you this weekend, I'd suggest you call Don and find out if he has a set ready. Have him hold them for you if he does have them, or get him to make them for you and have them ready to go for once you arrive. Great folks and they make great line sets! https://www.facebook.com/Kites-Unlimited-BirdStuff-etc-82661657778/ http://kitesandbirds.com/

Mike Klaiber
I would be in for a bulk buy if that works out. I thought of taking a eighty and making two. I also have two of the new carbon handles I need help with getting right with TK's leaders. I think I just cut and tie new knots but will see what JB says. Lots to learn and can't wait.Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
MarkH
All of my Revs packed and in the car now just need to work on packing my clothes. Looking forward to the clinic and improving my rev skills.

Lynn Gray Pugh
Do we have a meeting place on the beach yet? I have a trunk full of drinks and 2 sun canopies and some grapes and apples and one husband.
John Barresi
Yep, drive all the way south into the main parking lot and park - then walk a little ways back up the road to here (map pin below) and head straight out toward the water. https://goo.gl/maps/zWNn6NwdYKT2
John Barresi
Also talking about a dinner gathering at the end of the day tomorrow, Tight Lines Pub at 7:30pm - all participants (and companions) are welcome. https://www.yelp.com/biz/tight-lines-pub-and-brewing-company-morehead-city I'll try and remember to bring it up in the morning so we can get a head count, feel free to remind me!

John Barresi
Cool, we'll be out there around 9am too.
Lynn Gray Pugh
Does the clinic starts at 9 AM or 10 AM?
John Barresi
Fair question! 10am clinic (official greet and start of the Quad 101 presentation / roundtable). 9am beach arrival / wake up / warm up / relax / unfurl time is what we're discussing here... It's a beautiful location, nice morning, nice people... Mmmm... Whatever's clever, long as you're present and attentive at 10am! I understand the confusion.
