  1. Nope. Hands below elbows equates to more brake line tension without direct X-Y input. Hands above elbows equates to more top line tension without direct X-Y input. Literally, the subtle altitude of the hands (and arms) changes the dominance of the top / bottom in a more subtle range without the volatility of a true manual input.

  4. I’ve found that magic sticks are just another tool, nice if someone likes them but not a solution unto themselves. Tuning, technique, equipment, many options available.

  6. Russ, remind me of this when we meet up at the end of April - there is a lot that can be done with the altitude of your hands in relation to your body when reversing, pretty sure we can get you over the hump.

  8. Join us for two full days of quad mega fly activity and instruction with John Barresi (Team KiteLife) and Scott Weider (Rev Riders) in Long Beach WA including... There are 25 spaces available, allowing for as many as 25 total pilots including the two instructors to make a grid of 5x5! Minimum number of students to make a grid is 14 plus the two instructors, to make a total of 16 pilots. If we don’t reach this number, we will STILL run through grid exercises in columns on how to assemble the grid (body and kites), how to land it, and what the basic grid maneuvers are. We start at 10am on Saturday morning with general roundtable discussion and orientation about participating in and managing quad mega flies, moving very... NOTE: There will be opportunities to not only be part of these team exercises, but also to actually LEAD (with help and support) if you'd like to expand your skills... Registration fee is $125 per person ($100 for KiteLife Subscribers) and includes TWO FULL DAYS. Sign up link - http://kitelife.com/forum/store/product/87-quad-mega-fly-workshop-apr-28-29-2018/ RSVP’d: TBA

  11. Plan on meeting up with Scott Weider and I at the Bolstad approach at 10am - anticipate minimal “presentation” time, we’ll mostly be working on the line real time as we work through normal mega fly techniques, maneuver / set up / linkage knowledge and grid (if we have at least 16 pilots)... Even if we don’t have 16 we’ll still drill on the basic concepts and physical movement used in a grid. Key focus for the weekend is familiarization with all aspects of 10+ flying, but we’ll break into smaller groups as needed for remedial help and / or available bodies. If for any reason we’re not at Bolstad we may be just south at the Sid Snyder approach but you can always text me via 503-890-0280 for last minute updates... There may be some rain but the forecast is improving, be sure to bring appropriate rain gear regardless, maybe a shelter, hot beverage or anything else to make your day enjoyable.

  18. Me too, my favorite online community, great people and depth of knowledge - very, very, very little moderator work required on my part which also says a lot.
  19. Thanks to you! 50% of successful kiting is having good info and convention (process), the other 50% is heart, seems to me you’re digging deep on both - carry on!
  20. Did we ever! iQuad was one of the most meteoric rides I’ve ever had in kiting, worth every minute.
  21. That logo takes me back. Ahhhh, when we were younger and stupid-er. lol
