Day 5, added rods and bridle. Ready for a test flight. The horizontal bridle is a bit tight pre bending the frame. That will be adjusted on test flight. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Day 3, combined 2 half's with the center section. Added corner reinforcement and edge binding. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Day 2. Added white screening to sail. This stuff is heavy so I'm interested to see how it flies. I also put together the center section. The material is something called holopoly. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

I learned a lot on this forum about building kites so I thought I would document my second build on a new thread. Day 1 was to layout and cut the panels. I am using rip stop nylon as the primary fabric. As you may be able to see it will be a vented quad. Here is a picture of one of the panels with the vents cut out. Tomorrow the vents will get white screening. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Found this on the Icarex spec sheet. They could have multiple plants. Teijin also has a partnership with Dupont so they could make some in the US. Manufacturer Teijin is the manufacturer of Icarex. Tejin is a very large manufacturer of all kinds of synthetic fibers and fabric (mainly polyester based fabrics), with offices around the world and a workforce of more than 20,000 people.

I had a chance to fly one of these the other day in OBX. It was 10-15 mph winds and the kite flew very well. It was very responsive and was not pulling me across the sand. In the high wind it was much easier to fly than my OSK Vertigo.

Actually the sequence of learning is more important than club 38. For example to do a figure 8 I need to learn left turns and right turns. That's a pretty simple one. I was flying with someone yesterday and learned that there are several types of turns. Just having a list of moves would be good. I plan to go through the videos and put one together.
-
One of the things that club 38 has, that appealed to me as a beginner, was structure. I don't fly a rev so the club is out but I would still like to put some structure around my learning. Has anyone put together a list of moves that build on each other in a logical sequence from beginner to advanced. I know the videos are split into 3 groups. Should I just follow that or is there something with more detail? Thanks, John P

Thanks for the good input. I am canceling the simulator and looking for wind so I can get more flying time.

I have been accused of overthinking things many times. I just need to get out and fly.

I thought it might help to practice hand movements for flying. Mainly turns. Is that realistic?
