  5. Really hard to get camping/lodging the week of WSKIF. I'd suggest staying across the river in Ft. Stevens. We used to do that a lot and then drive over to Long Beach for the day.
  6. Glad it arrived and will get some use. Give me a yell if you're going to WSKIF and we can get together for a fly. Not sure if JB has recruited you, but he's trying to get 100 guinea pigs for the mega fly. It should be a lot of fun.
  7. Does Mario di Lucca sell the lights himself or does he go thru a re-seller? Would enjoy getting a set to play with.
  8. Yes, it is still available. I believe it is an SUL, but I'm not the best Rev historian. If I remember correctly, I got the kite from KiteConnection/Dave Shenkman years ago. It is very lightweight - compared to other Rev's I've owned. I've only flown it a couple times. Right now it sits in the bag since I've been flying a Phoenix Ash for the last 3 years.

  13. Thanks for sharing the reality of dual line flying guys - it is really helpful. I've been flying quads for so long I'm expecting dual line to behave the same - it doesn't. Maybe this is my wife's subtle way of forcing me to exercise more
  14. Thanks for confirming this is just a skill thing - not a total impossibility. We've been walking forward to keep the stall at the edge of the wind window - sounds like we're going to have to move even more to hold it as we move to the center. Guess I better put my track shoes on
  15. We've been practicing our stalls and had fair success at the edge of the wind window. We can even slide roughly 10', but as we get closer to the center of the wind window forward flight takes over and we lose the stall slide. We've been doing this in 10-12 mph wind. I'm curious is this to be expected (at that wind level) or is it just my skill are still sub-Jedi? I don't mind working on my skill level, but wanted to make sure this wasn't an exercise in futility at that level of wind.
  16. @RobB Thanks for the recommendation on the Hypnotist - you were spot on. We've had a chance to buy several higher end stunt kites and for our current level of experience the Hypnotist is my go-to kite. It truly is built like a tank. The center spar's shock absorber seems like it will take almost any abuse I throw at it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  17. Agreed, and it provides rationale for buying more toys. You know the saying - "he who dies with the most toys wins"
  18. The sad reality is legal remedies are very costly to pursue - there isn't much realistic protection from patent or copyright. The only effective way to address poor form is to educate consumers and let them "vote with their feet". Really appreciate everyone surfacing things like this and making the community aware of the situation. I agree with the comments about letting go of the past, but I'd also encourage making sure we keep the community aware of what is going on so consumers can make informed choices.
  19. We'll work on some of the basics (like a stall) before the clinic. I was curious if there is any validity to Prism's suggestion to fly on short lines (30-50') to master some of the techniques? That came up several times in the video.
  20. @John Barresi Now that I've done a bit of studying I can definitely say "Flippy Tricks" is my primary interest. I'm up to improve skills in the other areas, but learning how to truly manhandle the kite is super intriguing. We watched the Prism Freestyle videos last night - gotta learn some of that.
  21. Thanks for the advise @RobB ended up trying the Hypnotist and Kymera. That combination should give us a pretty good range of experience.
  22. Thanks for the advise Rob and John - I really appreciate it. I'm curious, you both use the term "full size" but I'm not sure what that means for a delta. I have several delta's that are all roughly the same size and I have a couple of Hawaiians. I would call the Hawaiians super-sized. How do you delineate full-size from other sizes?
  23. From whey I've read on the forums, it sounds like the Kymera, Widow, or Prism E3 might be a good fit. Maybe I'll buy a couple to try - assuming the Ministry of Finance approves.
  24. Thanks for the info John. I'm interested in all of the above - up for any new experiences. I have a couple of Windance foils I've always loved to fly since they are so smooth, but there is only so much i can do with them. Anything you can share to take experiences like that to a higher level will make the weekend for me. Team and flippy sound intriguing, but since i haven't done either I'm not sure what to expect.
