  1. Today was the daylight run. Mid 70's ene@15 some 50lbx50' lpg and a 4 wrap frame. Thought the 3 was in, but my mistake. i I did break a line today, so there was a little adjusting after a blood knot and some knots in the leader. Got it pretty close and flew the rest of the day without having to grab another set. I traveled light today and roamed a 14 block stretch throughout the afternoon. and some video if you feel like it. Unedited no music.... 5 hours on the beach today and I just couldn't put it down
  2. Oh i was hooked before.....just set the hook a lil bit better!
  3. Never heard of anyone, NOT being approved. Must have been some kind of "sign-up", mess-up I tried several times a year ago...no worries ... I can read whatever i need and get pretty much everything I need right here. Either way, I see John approved a few...I will give it a shot again for the rev count.
  4. Sounds like very stout advise. I saw this very recently. I have experienced something similar when learning slack line tricks. A brake line sometimes hook the bungee attachment on the back side of the sail..producing the spinning in one direction effect. I think I was very fortunate...quads were really my first and not a lot of other habits to break. Stick with it and don't get discouraged....the rewards will be well worth it.
  5. I hate to admit it....but I don't go there very often at all....and too lazy to go search it out. Did that help you out Nick?
  6. I never broke leading edges from ground pounding...but the verticals will pop. Have no fear! Enjoy my friend....its just the beginning!
  7. I mag try and get some on my next round. The color would help seeing the kites on the beach and also help passers by see them also. I have read they are quite slippery. Personal reviews were sort of 50/50 on who preferred skybond over lpg though.
  8. Being my first vented....I'm amazed. I have read many descriptions here of how it reacts, but there is nothing like hands on. The wind was pretty much straight onshore and not real smooth. The spot were i was flying is right on the ocean and the wind ramps up over the dunes.....never would have known it with the vented. Absolute joy! Can't wait for few more in various sizes!
  9. Tonite was the nite.... I paced all night at work and could hardly sit still. I knew that just on the otherside of that door in front of me, the wind was pumping....and it was prime B2 Vented time. Finally the time came and I rushed to a large field in front of our Jax Beach Amphitheatre. Thunderbirds...a popular concert venue had some live music pumping...the wind was 12/15 with some stronger gust occasionally. I grabbed the kite,2 sets of lines(30'&50'*50#) and 2 sets of handles(9"&11"). The 50' happened to be on the larger handles ....so away we went. I unrolled ,hooked up the kite....and with no hesitation, stood up and threw it. Ooooooooowwwwwweeeeeee! It reached the line length quick and popped up ready! A quick lap around the window and I couldn't resist....... An axel off to each side. After an hour of grinning and flying 2' of a1a or 1st street....had some onlookers and police hanging around, so I wrapped it up before bar closing time. Thanks again to KiteLife for the chance to have won this kite and providing me with the endless knowledge on how to fly it...... Only 1 picture. I don't like setting my camera down at nite in that environment. Get some video before too long.
  10. A tune rolling in my head......How sweet it is, .....to have a new B2...oooohhooo...ooohhooo

  11. Don't think I was ever approved ....so not able to comment.. I will double check tonite once computer is up and going. Can or will you transfer from here if that's truly the case for me?
  12. Too bad i have to work in 2 hours....let's hope for awesome wind off the ocean at about 3 a.m. Action shots or some video at the first opportunity I get! Can't thank John and all that make this great site happen enough!
  13. The same manner your bridle is connected at the caps ...on just the verticals? I have broken bridle on the outer points and the kite was still controllable. Or would the upper go to the outer wing tips? Without the other connection points , I would imagine some bow occurs if in too much wind and you would only want to try this in light winds.
  14. My first thoughts would be less weight for light wind flying and possibly better reaction due no bridle and direct connection to the corners. I have never flown without one.....but it won't be long now before I do! By the way....the original Rev2 bridle is quite heavy and beef compared to what is used now or on the B2.
  15. oooooh! Don't know why I hasn't done this yet. Ty sir. I now have 2 rev2 and was going to stack them, you just gave me an added bonus for having two.
  16. I use laser pro and a head mounted lamp. Cheap version from the local hardware works just fine......and a single l.e.d. with a wafer battery on the leading edge wingtips if in the dark/dark
  17. Stick your favorite good tempo music on and forget that your kite flying...get into it,the WHOLE body not just arms and hands. Watch John, he moves alot! With the extra movements comes a lot of pop that you will not see otherwise. Setup of the sail helps too...
  18. I lost 30 lbs within the first year. No changes,no dieting...just kite flying.
  19. I started with an EXP. The price is the cheapest and it's RTF. A lot of folks will say skip that step...but in all honesty for me, I still fly it! It's a great starting point to learn and beat up upon. Then when you feel ready for the great B, you are more skilled and in control, hence less wear and tear on the sail and it will last much longer. In the end....it is what makes you happy ...so get whichever feels right. You will have them all eventually
  20. Congrats bonus winners! In my haste , I skipped right over reading that part.
  21. Very nice.. I really like that double dc, the colors just jump in the sun. Is that color pattern called the tortuga or something like that?
  22. Barely had enough juice on my phone to reply...even more so cause i had to check it twice Its just the icing on the cake....I have received more than I could have ever imagined from a small group of people here. The kite just makes me smile even more! Cant wait to take it for a spin and let some others have a go too! Is it here yet?
  23. Holy shizznit Batman! How cool! Pics and video for sure Thanks for the opportunity!
