I was waiting for summertime...i think she plays not far from me in the hot months I do stop and talk and hand the kite off here and there.. but i was speaking more of the ones you know are there already locally.I have met a couple...even bought a Rev 2 from a guy. But alas, its like the great swamp ape...you only see one once in a lifetime or you here stories from others...lol I am still new to the kiting world. ...but it would be nice to have more than 1 Rev in the air every now and again. Or more than 1 person flying more than one Rev I should say

I started reading.... idk Did i ever reply on the original? I remember reading this... I think you guys got all technical and i got turned off...lol I don't ever make an exact set length. I have a goal yes....but i don't get to precise. I have taken what ive read here and there...and this works for me.. quick and easy. The second knot...one on each side of the leader before looping pigtail ends.. I do this sometimes. I have a bad habit of breaking my larksheads with my teeth....so i tear up and replace sleeving on a regular basis. I should also add, that with the single knot when forming the pigtails,instead of doubles... I have made sets and left them like that... the only problem I had with this was, the sleeving would slide on the line over time and in strong wind/pull situations. Even with knots on both ends of the leader before forming the pigtail.

Thought i saw a set of b2 eyes in T.I.... wouldn't that be basically a pro? ......I could have been seeing things due to all the great kites around.

I'm not sure what size handles that one had, but i'm sure someone will let you know real quick. The cheapest way for lines is bulk. Buy a roll of Laser Pro Gold in the proper strength...150#?I think....and get some hollow core dacron line from the local fishing shop.. .10cents a yard here....or buy a precut kit from the kite shop. I use 80#dacron for sleeving, but multiple sizes,colors and strengths available. In no time you will have multiple sets and line to spare......instead of one.

I've been alone from the get go... Every now and again.. me and Oats have hooked up ,just by chance. There are a couple of Rev folks near by Oats , oldcaptainrusty....which we spoke today some and have made efforts to hook up and fly ..... And some about an hour south in St. Augustine. It just seems soooo difficult to get people linked up. Even at the recent shop gathering....was just a couple of folks. The Tampa Bay folks are booming and love seeing them grow... I just havnt been able to make the trip.. although January is set on the calendar now Sometimes I enjoy the time with just me and the kite..but as my bag grows, flying sessions are becoming more work or effort and looking to make it a regular all day affair? Or routine... Setup shop somewhere, slk's up, bouncers and bowls, grab a Rev.....etc.. I visited my local spot the last 2 weeks and got several comments of good to see you back..we enjoy watching you. Guess I need to just do it....as you become a "regular" more people want to talk and show interest.

What measures do you take to get people together for just some plain old fun? I have tried several times to get some locals together...and it always fails for one reason or another. I am in no way stopping my efforts, just wondering what steps others take to make it happen. I work funky hours on days when most are relaxing..so it makes it tuff sometimes. Most of my flying is in the weee hours of the mornings now...but still want to make it happen. I have heard some horror stories over permits and city participation from not far away...but I'm looking for more fun then festival for starters. Anyways, input and thoughts are greatly appreciated

I'm quite sure ole Willie will do more than have a drink with you....I have seen the coffee table scenery at his home... I think its more of we are doing something we enjoy..a non profit hobby? And love to spread the knowledge to whomever is willing to listen.

This gives me a great idea! That will stay a secret until the time comes.... Sorry Txscout..if I had some too send you , I would. Just sent the last of my 50# out not long ago. I do have some sets for repair that may get cut down to shorter sets...if and when that happens. I can send you something that will treat you much better than the paracord.
