I have to say...all banter aside... In the short time I have been a member, I have seen some great giveaways. But this one is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! WHAT a PRIZE!
My hat is off to everyone involved in making and keeping Kitelife thriving and looking forward to many years of the best kiting site around! Thank You
I think its due to flying by myself all the time.. I do practice slow controlled and precision flying , but get bored and have to let it rip.
Plus, in high wind it is sooooooo much fun to zip around the sky spinning like a mad man!
My tuning then was out of whack, compared to now. The wind was blowing hard enough that the 1.5 with double leading edge was pushing it.
Sporting my Treasure Island Kite Fest shirt..
With the recent poll.... here is a short video I shot recently.
Changed my handle tuning since this video and can perform clockwork and stop moves, flic flacs,etc... fairly easily and under control now.
13" Handles
Several not very good videos of the 1.2 a minute and under on my YouTube channel.... Mystainedskin
If you would like to see the abuse and flight first hand.
I think small foils are great to start with. Learn the wind window and get used to reacting to kite movements....
I started with the snapshot 1.2. Very durable...gave a beating every weekend for a year.. now it resides in the daily back pack for those "certain" days.
Great starter and comes complete. For sure to get your moolahs worth from it...and when its boring..pass it along or save it as I did.
I also only have a Rev2 and fly it on 90# all lengths...and agree with the weightless feeling, but the kite is still very quick. A roll of 50# should be here or be here soon. When I make some sets up, I will give it a vote.
