From the album: Rev's In West Oz
All Mine -
Very Nice Rob. Becoming a Die-hard Duallie I see I look forward to seeing the UL in person....

I got tired of Multiple Bags. Prism Hard Case for 3 Revs - Hockey Bag full of Gliders - Backpack of Power Quads - Roll up of Revs - Duffle Bag of Dualies. I would try to carry it all, and it was very awkward. So I decided to get one Big central bag for it all.... My New Baggie. It is a Golf Bag Travel Cover, Designed to put a Golf bag full of clubs into the main compartment. Overall Dimensions 1350mm x 400mm x 300mm In the Lid Part - 2 Power Quads, 1 Dual Foil, Many Bits. In the Body of the Bag - Lotsa Revs, Many Gliders. There is still some sorting to be done, which I will get to. There is plenty of room in the baggie, if I choose to throw in my Stunt Duallies.

What are your favorite Gliders at the moment?
West Australian replied to John Barresi's topic in Indoor Gliders
I have been really getting into the Vented iFlite. Great for a casual fly in the dining room after the kids are in bed. I really like how smoothly and easily it glides and turns. -
A few weeks ago the West Aussies got together and flew. The wind came and the wind went, at various times. In a dead patch I snapped these Pics of a Mad Aussie flying his Indoor, with No Walls or Roof in sight!

Also if you get matching colours the Wife wont know you have 2 kites

B-Series Mid-Vent Package (8/25/13)
West Australian replied to John Barresi's topic in Current Drawings
Sweet, I have those exact colours on my mid vent. If I get it I can stack them both in front of my Lime Black 1.5 STD pair. Stackalicious..... Come on RNG, It will be amongst Family here... -
Reef Runner, I sure did get that set up. And I have Had a chance to try them all out too. I flew the Rev 1 on the Race Frame in low winds and had no trouble keeping it in the air. Except perhaps in reverse. That was a bit more of a challenge. Here it is: I had a light-moderate wind fly with the 1/4" 4 Wrap frame all round. It was nice and slow. The Bigger sail is very graceful. In the Air: In some moderate-strong winds Rob and I flew with the R1 with the 4 Wrap SLE. It does have a very different feel on the SLE. The winds were never very strong, it really only got to about 25km/h (15mph) What surprised me the most was how easily it flew when the wind dropped to about 6km/h (4mph) With the SLE still in. Rev 1 and my Twin 1.5's:

Repair Advice Wanted - iFlite Vented
West Australian replied to West Australian's topic in Indoor Gliders
Well the Repair was very easy. I did not think of taking any photos of the stages, sorry. the tape is very difficult to see unless the light reflects of it differently. Also, It flies just as nicely as ever. I managed to snap a shot on my Ipod. -
Haha, No Video of my Son, sorry. I could try and get some of myself later.... Sweet Dude. I would like to hear about the different handling of the two.

I have added the iFlite Vented to my collection of indoor gliders. I already have the Wala, Wala XL, Zero G, Plutz 3 and Mega Plutz 2013. The iFlite Vented is my first Indoor-Only. The Sail material is a very light plastic sheet, and all the rods are very thin. The Quality is very easy to see and feel. A great deal of care has gone into producing the iFlite vented. I was able to successfully fly it in many rooms of my house. The lounge room being the greatest space allowing for flying past myself and gliding in different directions. I also flew in a small bedroom that only gave me about 90 degrees of freedom. But it was easy to keep the iFlite clear of the walls. My 8 year old Son (with little kiting experience, and no indoor glider experience) asked to have a try. within 10 min he was flying circles, Infinities, getting good glides. And able to do them all in front, overhead and at his side. All his moves were fully controlled not random. I was very impressed with him and the kite. My Son's favourite move was to fly past me and miss me by about an inch. The iFlite vented is a slow and graceful glider that can zip around under power. No footwork is required to keep this beauty flying. In fact you can fly while seated. Small spaces are also no problem on short line. So if poor weather conditions are forcing you inside, or you don't have time to get out to your flying field. The IFlite Vented may be just what you need.

It is Fluro Orange, But it is very hard to see. In flight you can see the kite whizzing around but the line almost disappears. But it handles easily. It has a surprising feel in the fingers. It looks very similar to the thickness of my beard hair.
-
I just got some New line for Flying My New iFlite Vented on. It is a Fused Braid Dyneema Line my others. 0.09mm x 3kg 0.00354" x 6.6# It is so thin, but it does not give any string burn.

Repair Advice Wanted - iFlite Vented
West Australian replied to West Australian's topic in Indoor Gliders
Thanks Reef Runner. The iFlite is made from a plastic sheet, not fabric. I wanted to know if there were any Taping Concerns with the plastic. I got a quick Email response from Patrick Tan: As for repair, yes you may use clear tape, cut the strip as narrow as you can to cover the rip. To align the rip, use a glass or very flat surface. Spray from water on the surface then place the kite (de-tensioned) onto the wet surface. Carefully move the ripped sail to align them, the wet surface should hold them together. Now aim carefully and tape over the rip, good luck! I shall give it a go. -
You could also consider the Supersonic. The Supersonic is Faster than the Shockwave and pulls Less. But beware the Supersonic is Really Fast!
-
Hi all. My iFlite vented has a 1 inch long rip in the sail. The rip is on the inside of the vented hole. It looks like it will rip further when the sail is under tension. Can I just use clear tape to repair it? Any advice you can offer? Thanks in advance.
-
A Variable vent would be of use If you only had one kite. But as I have the set STD-MID-VTD, I would not ever try making a variable vent.
-
Hey there are some nice moves in your vid...
-
Flat tails are generally more active. Flapping and wafting around more easily. Which is what I like. Tube Tails get filled with air and stay straighter, They still waft around, but less.
-
The others have all said it, but I will say it again. Whatever the Kite will lift is good. Tubes are a lot more drag than a flat tail, 2x24' will need a solid wind for sure. I have a metallic Red tail 4.5' x 50' that I put up under my Sled. But I need a decent wind for that too.

Thanks Dayhiker. I will post a video of SparkieRob Flying the Same NPW if anyone is interested.
-
That's awesome Dude. My NPW is great fun, But yeh, It's no Rev. The Precision is not there. My NPW in Flight. This was a light wind day.
-
Well I have lined up all the options for A Cool Sedgwick Rev 1. Full Race Frame. Full 4 Wrap 1/4" Frame. SLE 4 Wrap Leading Edge. I like options. Hey Dayhiker, Great Pics. I have flown in the Low Teens recently, That was Celsius though You are a mad man sir. And I mean that as a compliment. Never any Snow on my flying field. Frost at times, but never snow.

My Windmeter is the Windtronic 2. Very nice unit, Very happy with it. I have had it a long time too. My 2.2 cents AU (About 2cents US) I usually only take wind readings so I have some stats to put in my Kite Blog. I have gotten used to feeling the wind and checking the trees. A wind meter is interesting and fun but not a requirement. It can help you learn what each wind speed feels like though.
