Thanks for the comments guys. Pete: The ZeroG will not have you running around. A casual stroll is all that is needed for beginners in zero wind. I find the only movement I do is a few side steps when I am in direct line with the spine of the kite. If you like wands they are certainly an option too.

Hi PJD, Great to hear they are picking up the interest. The Beetles are probably repairable, I know they are still available. The Prism Nexus is an awesome Duallie. As is the Acrobatix. There are many others to choose from but I have no personal experience with them. Let us know what you choose.

I had a Meet with SparkieRob this morning. We got to the park pre-dawn. There was only a very light breeze. Rob and I got out our Zero-G's. Very sweet, very gentle. Rob got the hang of the Zero-G very quickly. He was getting long glides, great smooth circles and consistent launches. We got out my Rev SUL for a spin on some 7' lines. They have proven to be too short (they were made from off-cut) I have decided to make some new lines fron my 50' x 50#. A set of 12' and 30'-ish seems like a good idea. I took the chance to fly a Plutz 3 and my MegaPlutz too. The MP can sure glide. Awesome. Rob figured out a way to ground launch the gliders easily. Lay it on its back, nose away. Get a good length of line out, pull gently to raise the nose. Give a strong tug to launch. I tried it out on the MP with about 80m (263') of line. Fantastic launch with a brilliantly high start. It was a near windless to windless morning, but brilliant fun was had.

I would like to get an Urban Ninja one day. I will hopefully get one of the Horvath "Thermal" style gliders. Their "The Long Way Home" looks sweet, but is so expensive. The "C'est La Vie Freestyle" is what I am aiming for. The Idea of doing a rising flatspin in a thermal sounds awesome. I am loving the Fused Braid Dynema Fishing line. I have a few weights now. Really great response to my inputs, and very light weight.

Great Wala Pics dude. I have the Yellow and the Blue Wala and the Blue/Purple XL. So Glad you got a great fly with it. (you can rotate pics before you upload them, Windows photo viewer does it.)

That is so awesome Dude! Be sure and post some pictures for us.

I had a chance to fly at a local park recently. It was a zero wind day, so out came the gliders. First up was the Blue Pop Art Plutz 3 (P3) Light and Playful, Quick turns and great Glides. Then the Purple Then the Big Daddy, The Mega Plutz 2013 (MP 2013) Bigger, Slower, More Graceful. This is an "In-Flight" shot... Just before it hit me in the face. Flying Art......

Suggestions on Finding Indoor Places
West Australian replied to West Australian's topic in Indoor Flying
Thanks for the Info Guys. Hey Wayne, sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Thats great. Thanks for the links John. Only place I have found so far has plenty of room, but wants $60 per hour. Thats ok for a once off to try out indoor, but not something I can do often. I am still looking around, thanks for the suggested places. -
I am looking about to find an Indoor Flying space. What sorts of places do you fly in? Do you pay for access? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the story. Great to read about your experiences. I do hope you keep the kites going. It helps if you fly regularly with others.

iFlite - iFlite Vented - iFlite II

No Ceiling fans for me to worry about, but great tip. I am looking into finding a decent Indoor Place, I hope that works out well. -
iFlite - iFlite Vented - iFlite II
West Australian replied to West Australian's topic in Indoor Gliders
Thanks for the linked vid Hasek. A great Demonstration of what the iFlite can do. Thanks for the Info and Advice Wayne. How about Glide and float in the iFlite vs iFlite II? Do you fly either of them inside your house? -
Only remove one Joiner though. The centre then becomes an edge... It should not come out with a careful twist. I usually use Superglue to glue Carbon. But if you want to "carry on" you should contact the Airline I have my STD, MID, VTD, 5 sets of line, 2 sets of handles, 2 Stakes, and some spares in my Prism Case.

I want to try out the iFlite family of kites and was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of them. I would like to be able to fly one in my lounge room and other small spaces. How does the flight of the vented compare to the Standard? Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer... WA

Great Quote, It goes well with this... "Dance to the music in your mind"

Dayhiker: Well I always try to focus on the positive comments. When Doing Dual line Flic Flacs etc, I often had people telling me to put a tail on the kite to stabilze it. It is only a lack of understanding. I like the Lasso the wind comment. That sounds cool. Must86: The Pop Art P3's are awesome looking and awesome flyers. Would you agree? I plan on stacking my 2 at some stage. If it goes well I might get the Red one too and try a 3 stack.... Wayne is right. be careful about stretching the sail. The P3 is not easily re-tensioned.

What are your favorite Gliders at the moment?
West Australian replied to John Barresi's topic in Indoor Gliders
Great to have something to fly when there is no wind eh Rob? Yes plenty of great Vids out there. I like the Wala for its trick-ability, Backflips, stalls and spins. I can do those on the Wala but not the Zero-G I have not found grass to be a problem to the Wala. Belly launch is better for beginners IMHO. -
Hi all, I have had more than a dozen people describe the Plutz 3 and Mega Plutz 2013 Glider Kites as "Flying Art" I rarely get approched by onlookers when flying Dual lines. I have never been approached when I Fly Quad. Lots of people do come up when I fly Gliders though. I think it is because they are suprised to see a kite in the sky when there is little to no wind.

I don't know anybody near by, that flies anything, much less, a Wala ! Actually, it's pretty unusual for me to fly, here at home, anyway. 95% of my flying, is done during our weeks at the coast, during the summer. On occassion, I do slip out to one of the State Parks, here on the lake, which I did today, just because it was such a beautiful day. Winds were blowing pretty good, 12-18 mph, and I knew that the small Wala was rated up to 20, so, up it went. Time for it to get a little air time.......... I do appreciate all the suggestions, and I intend on giving it another try, although, the "glider thing", really isn't my favorite thing........... Thats a shame, always easiest to learn from someone in person. I never truely understood the whole Rev Quad thing untill SparkieRob gave me the confidence to actually do it. Now I really enjoy Quad. -
Ready anytime you are Bro. Wind or Not, we can fly at every Meet now. Well Said. Sun and Moon shots can be great. I also like flying the Zero-G when it is almost too dark to see. Thanks. Honestly It was dificult. The Sun was so much brighter to me than the picture shows. Thanks dude. You should, they are really nice kites. The Plutz 3 is a sweet kite too Thanks Dude, they came out great for an iPod.

Ok Personal Opinion to Follow. I view the Wala and Wala Xl as "Zero Wind" kites. The Zero-G is what I view as a "Glider" I find the Wala to be a lot of fun, It can be for you too Reef Runner. Do you know anyone near by that flys a wala? I start with the Wala on its belly, nose towards me, with about 5-10m of line out. Pull steady to launch and gain height. When it is high, (above your head is best) try to tug/flick the line to make the Wala turn. Now Importantly - Dont release all the tension on the line - If you do the kite may se-saw. Keep light tension on the line to make the kite glide in an arc and face you again. Now pull the line in again to gain height. I hope you keep up with it, The Wala can be hard to learn on, but is heaps of fun. -
I grab any chance I can. Weekends are too full for me though. I Try to grab at least Half an hour every weekday. Morning, Lunch, or Afternoon. I carry my Revs (SUL, STD, MID, VTD) and my Gliders (Zero-G, P3, MP2013) every day to work. Always got something I can Fly...
