    Quad build

I can relate. I've had 2 mesh failures on 2 Revs in just over 1 year. I bought a sewing machine and will learn how to repair myself.
  3. I love it! I'm gonna have to get a bigger bag!
  4. I don't get frustrated when the wind dies. I just throw out the boomerangs until the wind picks back up.
  5. Tomorrow, October 11th is also the worldwide "One Sky One World" fly for peace. What better way is there to spend a beautiful autumn (at least here) afternoon?
  6. A B-Series STD is next on my list to add to my bag. A purple/white one will be a great addition also.
  7. Congrats Marcus!! It's a beauty!
  8. I've been practicing catch and throw on 30' lines. I can't picture what the SS looks like when yanked on 80' lines. Does anyone have a video? Hey, Rudy -- long time since.... I just re-read this thread and since it kind of went off-topic, it may be somewhat confusing. Although catch-and-throw is possible on 80' lines with the SS, if you have close to JB skills, once the lines go slack the kite has a tendency to turn downwind and float away from you. The same will happen if you fly it to the upper right or left edge of the window and slacken the lines. Very seldom will the SS actually come towards the flyer, and this makes the catch part difficult unless the lines are quite short. Although I haven't tried them all, this should be true of all the Speed Series kites. We were trying to get Rob B to try it, without actually telling him what would happen. Wanted to get him to have that "oh wow!" moment that most of us found out about by mistake. Swing down to Busse Woods some time and fly with me. I'll bring the SS and you can have some fun with it. If you want to, give me a call at 224.227.0638 anytime, I'm retired and available during the week too. Get out to some of the festivals with the IKE crowd this year if you can. PM

  10. And, I thought my VolksQuad was a strange design.
  11. Hi Fourteen, well that's what the numbers on your name add up to ! PM sent This should help ! There has often been questions regarding how the bridles are fitted and I just decided to do this as a guide. http://www.revkites.com/forum/topic/6173-bridle-images/?hl=bridle Bill Perfect timing. Someone recently gave me a Rev II, and the bridle was undone from the upper & lower. Thank you for the link Bill!
  12. Very nice! I've been thinking of buying a sewing machine at Jo-Anns. I've heard they also have free lessons. After seeing your creations, I'm going to order one today.
  13. Had to resurrect this for a question. Does sub freezing temps affect the mesh on the leading edge? I flew a lot this winter in 10°- 20° temps. Today I noticed that there are at least 4 small holes in the mesh. The Rev is just a year old. I'm wondering if the mesh stiffens in very cold temps? I never paid attention when I was flying.
