audioRob Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 http://zenixstudios.com/files/movies/961Sl...inetutorial.mov Let me know how to improve. I have many other tutorials "finished" but am still unsatisified with the format. Any and all tips are appreciated. Particularly, I am wondering which method would be the best... Explaining the trick with perfect execution (which will be harder to learn from) or a simpler execution (which often does not look the best). A combo of both maybe best but i am struggling to find a way to integrate them. Comete and Taz Machine tutorials are on kitebox under Air Oeuvre as well. Thanks. Quote
kite-head Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Rob, I'll start by saying Great Work So Far! I like the idea of integrating both a non-perfect execution and an expert level execution. IMO start by showing a "beginner level" execution; break the trick down w/ explanation; then demo an "expert level execution" (to give us beginners something to look for initally and an example of what we should be shooting for. Just my two cents. Chris Quote
Backspin23 Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 That looks really nice. I would just suggest that the vertical scrolling text "star wars style" should move a bit slower. but nice work Quote
John Barresi Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 GREAT tutorial Rob... One suggestion, slow down the larger bit of text a little bit... Gotta read it real fast right now. Quote
audioRob Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 Ok. Slower text. I will re-encode it tonight with slower text and slightly better encoding. Anything else before I get the Coin toss/Ollie/tipstab, and rolling cascade tutorials up? Quote
John Barresi Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Yeah... Better credit me with the Ollie. I invented that baby on a Stinger 1000 (9ft kite) in 1993, just prior to the UP Sports Championships in Manhattan Beach, CA... I was flying on Air Art at the time, we beat High Performance fair and square at Berkeley, and went on to take 7th in the World Cup due to a broken kite. Quote
audioRob Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 I dont think crediting anyone would be good.. I can only imagine having a bunch of other guys claiming to have been doing it years before and I get blamed for it... Feel free to take credit when i post it:) Quote
John Barresi Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 It's all good, just flipping you . Quote
audioRob Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 Actually, I take that back. It will be the ollie (reverse-coin-toss) tutorial and I'll make sure to credit the appropriate party mauahaha. Quote

audioRob Posted August 5, 2006 Author Report Posted August 5, 2006 You should include a filter that changes any utterance of 'ollie (reverse-coin-toss)' to ollie Quote
John Barresi Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Aha, that's got it. (Oh, I'm bad) Quote
audioRob Posted August 18, 2006 Author Report Posted August 18, 2006 ollie (reverse-coin-toss) hehe. reverse cointoss still works Quote
