SKITCH Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Is there anyone out there that can tell me about these Revs. Any info would be appreciated. I'm a newbie and have no idea what model these are. I know they are fairly old. Thanks, Skitch Quote
John Barresi Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Okay... Rev #1 is a Rev 1, Sedgwick Series vented (in Sue Taft, or "cool" colors)... It´s mate is the yellow-orange scheme... That venting configuration is the one I prefer on Rev 1's. Rev #2, wow... A custom High Performance kite, flown by Team High Performance from Hawaii, 2x world champions in the 90s... I´d trade my left leg for this one, if it's authentic. "Dual #1" is acually a quad line kite... I cannot recall the name, someone here will know. Dual #2 looks to be a custom Griffin, made by Bob Childs in the early to mid-90s. I hope that helps. I assume you have these? Where did you fine the first two in particular? Quote
ant man Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 well john you beat me to this lol but tohse are pretty old rev 1 kites i dont know the dual lines sorry Quote
SKITCH Posted December 4, 2006 Author Report Posted December 4, 2006 well john you beat me to this lol but tohse are pretty old rev 1 kites i dont know the dual lines sorry Is there any negative to buying an older rev as opposed to a newer rev? Any major differences or design changes that might be an issue? Thanks, P Quote
John Barresi Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 No design issues... The Sedgwick Series is current (up to date), and the High Performance Rev is a fair bit older, but a "must have" for any pilot or collector. Matter of fact, if you don't pick up the HP kite... I'd ask you to connect me with the seller, if possible. Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 The first dual kite looks like it could be a Solution from Charly McCleary? Quad. Someone bought his design. If you buy used, just be sure the old owner came by them legally. BB Penny Quote
John Barresi Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Correct Penny, a Solution... I couldn't recall the name earlier. The design was purchased by Spectra Sport in the 90's, and is no longer made. Quote
ant man Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 i thought that kite looked fimialr i never flew one but i did see them at festivals i just couldnt put my finger on the name Quote
Quad KiT Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 He has got to be teasing with those kites, anybody knows better to post those REVs and not know what they are LOL... come on maybe I am just too shallow but I find it hard to believe he doesnt know what he has there! Throwing those specific REVs at us REV freaks is like dropping a 20oz porterhouse in a cage of dogs that haven't eaten in a week! Quote
ant man Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 quad kit i agree i though of that too its kinda funny but unless he fopund them or got them at a yard sale then i too think its a tease Quote
SKITCH Posted May 16, 2007 Author Report Posted May 16, 2007 He has got to be teasing with those kites, anybody knows better to post those REVs and not know what they are LOL... come on maybe I am just too shallow but I find it hard to believe he doesnt know what he has there! Throwing those specific REVs at us REV freaks is like dropping a 20oz porterhouse in a cage of dogs that haven't eaten in a week! OK, I was browsing through some old posts last night....at about 3:30 AM....you all know how that goes. I came across this one from a while ago and have to say that I never saw the response from Qudkit or Ant. I wasn't teasing...I just knew nothing of old Revs. I only had one that I had purchased only a while before that time. I found these in an Ebay auction...poorly listed by someone that did NOT know what she had. No pics on the listing unless you clicked into it.....Did not list them as Revs.....Only as used kites or something similar. There were actually more revs by the same seller....one of them was another of the competition kites in blue I think....All the other kites were just about equally as interesting (as I know now) and equally as old or collectible. Look at that original quad design....and there were a lot of really interesting dual line kites. I did get a couple of Original Joel Sholtz signed birds and a really old Hawaii made White bird kite from a seperate auction I won. If I had known about these Revs I would have done anything to get them ....especially at the price they sold for....yes Quad, it would make you sick. They went CHEAP. Again, they were posted poorly so you had to actually fall into them. I was hoping to collect them or use them to trade for additions to my own bag. Ultimately I missed out on all the REVs....sure wish I had them now.....BUT, I was able to MAKE SURE that one of them made it to the "RIGHT GUY" that will seriously appreciate it because of his "History". I'm sure he will probably never let it go. It took a little orchestration....but it worked out. So, I was not teasing and ANT...you were pretty close with the garage sale idea. You bet I will be watching garage sales a whole lot closer now!!!! AH.....ignorance is bliss.....but now I'm ruined. Patrick Quote
SKITCH Posted May 16, 2007 Author Report Posted May 16, 2007 Deeply in debt to ya Patrick. Hey man.....good things for good people....... Pass it on some day when you see the opportunity to do something for someone else. John, you seem like that type of guy anyway. P Quote
