John Barresi Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 To give you an idea KiT, Jim is an okay Rev team flier... When iQuad gets together in WW, you're gonna mess your shorts. Quote
Quad KiT Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I will be sure to bring an extra pair to the flying field then! I have never flown in formation with other rev flyers so it was a nice experience for me. The thing I like most about these guys was their desire to share information and to teach. He also spoke highly of you (who doesn't?), and he was flying a B series! Quote
John Barresi Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 Yeah, Jim is top notch... And getting better on the Rev every time out. As for sharing info, it goes with the territory... It's our duty. Quote
ant man Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 im messing my shorts about you guys comeing here and im going to need those pointers that you learned quad kit so i can hang with the team Quote
Quad KiT Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Dude if you aren't use to going between people's lines and having them go between yours get ready! I learned how to get in and out of other fliers lines. I also learned how to enter lines. I learned a little about always offering an out. I wasn't use to someone touching up on my lines, it was a little bit of a learning curve for me. I got a long ways to go! Quote
monkey Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 Oh yes. Moving with the pressure of other lines on yours can be a bit disorienting at first, but, you do get used to it, as I'm sure you found. And Ant? It won't take long. The key I find is to try and avoid thinking about it and simply keep your eyes locked onto your own kite. Two other key moves that get used a lot in team flying : 1] 180 degree turns, in place, ie, a complete change of direction. 2] Tip pivots up, and down, ie, a leading edge forward half circle either down or up, approx the height of the rev you will be replacing in the line. is it Wildwood time yet? (And I'll vouch for Jim Cosca and Paul LaMasters being GREAT guys) Quote
ant man Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 well i hope so all i know are the basics but i can learn simply so i can be a part of i quad history and when my son gets older we can get him on too Quote
Quad KiT Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 Wasn't Paul LaMasters, although he was there. It was another Paul from WOW, great guy too! Man I got so much to learn. I picked up a lot but I need to practice it. The main thing is for me is to just have fun with it! Quote

Quad KiT Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 That was him. I couldn't remember his last name for nothing, I just knew what it sounded like. Great guy! Quote

(And I'll vouch for Jim Cosca and Paul LaMasters being GREAT guys) Tip pivots are easy about 1/8th of the time. If you are center wind it seems to me to be very easy BUT get to the edge of the wind and it is a different thing. I forget where I am and that baby just takes off! I guess I just have more time flying needed. Quote
