outsync Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Now that I have a brand new purple rev 1.5 b, I want to start trying some street kiting ( there a nice spot near my house) and with my current 120' line set It doesn't seem to work out well . So what would be a good line lenght to start out ? Quote
Spence Watson Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 I don't street fly, but from all the videos I'v seen, you should use short lines. I'm guessing 20-40 feet Quote
monkey Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 I find anywhere from 15 - 30 feet to be a good line length for street kiting, 15 is what I use more often than not, its better in confined spaces. Quote

I just made a 15 ' set, sleeving is not 100% but guess It will have to do, the lines are equal in length so ... I wish it could stop raining so I could go out and try just a small question, do I need to remove the bridle ? I only have 1 kite atm, and was planning to put the lines directly on the kite, would I have any problems with leaving the bridle on ? thanks in advance Quote
John Barresi Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 We generally use 12' lines. You can leave the bridle on, but it tends to take wear and tear on the concrete/asphalt. Try a few minutes both ways. Quote
ant man Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 i have tried this method with 15 foot lines . no bridle on a 1,5 it works the best for me as i use it for boardwalk flying in wildwood with no winds.. with winds i use my bridle but keep in mind to try and keep your kite off of the asphalt as much as you can to keep from ruining your bridle .. if your going to do this alot then you should get some bridle line and make a few spare bridles for your rev so if one breaks you have another on hand to keep you flying Quote
