Yet another nice video Bruce. Just wonder, the Rev that was flicking into the left of picture towards the start, was that supposed to be there or just another flier in the area. I thought it looked cool flicking in and out. Of course if it was not supposed to be there then I dont think it looked cool at all.

I have hopefully just bought a camera to try out KAP video, will let you know how I get on.

Just woke up, yeh Chris, friend Pete on his third time out with the Rev was flying his 1.5 beside me until one of his SLK's out of shot needed looking after, we were just nattering and watching the kites fly themselves around, one day I might be able to fly one.

Mother said " don't play near the water" did we listen, nah...did I get wet feet ...yes

Looked fun, nice offshore breeze, not too much surf.

In the close up shots of the leading edge it looks like the mesh part has given way in the centre for quite a length, is this so or just a trick of the video??

Just wonder as my Rev 1 has about a 6 inch split between the sail and mesh, I try not to fly it too much as I dont want it to get much worse, specially as it is a REALLY old almost Neos old Rev 1. However you seem to have no problem flying yours???

You are right Chris, on Robs kite the mesh is badly torn for more than 2ft, the sail is really battered, ripped and patched. Rob had to replace the centre panel where the Rev logo is normally and the Skunk on the right wing is sewn over a hole just to make it a tad harder to fly the bridle is all to hell too, the last time it was used the fittings on the uprights would not come off at the tops and in the past it has taken pliers to get it apart.... ain't sand good :)

After a bit Rob passed the handles over and I had a try, I found it near unflyable, as if one of those damn great rocks was attached to the flying lines.

The wind was falling quickly as the sun was going down, I don't know how he flys the thing, just beats me.

Just try catching the mesh with some stitching where it is split, I have used this method on mesh to extend its life some but its not to big a job to replace the mesh.

Thanks Bruce, gives me a bit more confidence to fly the old girl.

I asked Lolly about a repair and she said as it is a REALLY old one the mesh was sewn in differently so it would be difficult to replace.

Still kites are for flying, not keeping in the bag. Sooner it rips some more sooner I have an excuse to buy at least 2 more.
