John Barresi
Deep and heartfelt congratulations go out to Connor Doran of Bend, OR... A regular in the Northwest kite scene, he's one of the lucky few to have taken kiting to a National TV program. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjjMHaQyk9k Way to go young brother! Reef Runner
Way to go Connor ! I wish they had showed more of your routine, but what I saw was great. You know, you've made a huge step, for all of us, in the kiting world. I've only been a kite flier, for about 7 - 8 years, and Revs, for just about a year. Believe me, I can't even think or dream, of touching anything that you do, so please, please don't be discouraged. There are so many people in this world, that just don't get it. Not that they mean to be cruel or unkind, they just don't understand what it is, we do. As I said before, you have taken a huge step, for all of us, and you have introduced our sport, to so many people, that would have otherwise, still been in the dark. Stick with your dreams and keep it up. You are great at what you do and I'll never forget your performances................. Take care & "No X's" ............ John Barresi
Another good video, this one with some of Connor's second performance in Las Vegas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjjmmm10JoY I never thought a teenager would make me cry so muh until I have one of my own, ah well, it's all good. Baws
"I never thought a teenager would make me cry so muh until I have one of my own, ah well, it's all good." It's a shame that the judges don't know the intense difficulty in flying that kite, they would appreciate Conner's performance more. I can't believe Sharon said she didn't know if he could handle a live performance. Every time you fly a kite you are giving a live show! That illiterate little rapping inmate wantabe couldn't bring a tear to my eye on his best day. SORRY for the Rant!

I wold think his competitive experience is proof positive he can perform for a stanard song length?? how many times per day do you typically fly in competitions? John Barresi
A busy competition day for an individual would be 3 or 4 flights at about 2-8 minutes each. For discussion's sake, a Vegas show is an hour or two long, eh? One person (anyone) might have trouble filling that kind of time for $30-$75 show tickets, but with the help of a few friends... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wY-aSasx8-Q http://kitelife...canvas-640x360-1-hour-show/ Lots of capable indoor fliers out there, lots of styles and kite types, would be hard to put together a show, especially with a little budget behind you. Regardless, even if Connor didn't become the absolute winner, he certainly deserves to see the final AGT round... Beautiful to watch, an authentic and charming young man, inspiring as well. Hedgewarden
Two more hearty congratulations to Conner from me and Sunny. And kudos to Amy for helping raise a son with such talent and self control. We received calls from several friends and relatives telling us that we absolutely had to see the most beautiful kite flying demonstration on TV. And, indeed we did have to, or miss something wonderful. Thanks again Conner and Amy.

There is a wildcard discussion going on at: http://boards.nbc.co...pic=845430&st=0 and: http://www.nbc.com/a...dition/1235387/ It would be sooooooooooooo cool for Connor to have a chance at one of the wild card slots!! Baws
Well he made it! and here is what I have to say. I think those loony judges finally get it. Stacked! Great idea. I've seen many kite performances, none of them can move me like Connor's does. His ability to interpret the music through his kite is wonderful. He deserves that standing ovation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWfSBxEyXtQ&feature=player_embedded

Reef Runner
Way to go Connor !!! What a wonderful performance on Tuesday, and last night (Wed), the suspense was about to kill me. I can't imagine the pressure you must have been feeling. All I can say is "way to go", and you handled it all with such grace. When they finally announced that you would advance, I'm sure that we alarmed the neighbors, way over here in North Carolina..........................keep it up..........we're pulling for you ever step of the way. Tell Mom "hi"......................
John Barresi
The results show, Connor scores! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tnOPZRqhfc Class act all the way, way to go Connor.
BillLamm
Way to go Connor... you have shown more Americans the modern sport kite world than any one else in who knows how long... I think you are neck and neck with Ben Franklin when it comes to names most people relate to kiting... I am curious to know what sort of interest in kiting this brings to AKA, Revolution Kites, kite forums and retailers?? is Rev going to need temporary customer support hotline staff?!?!?! I am currently available... will work for kite
