Rui Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Hi everyone. Here's my first litle movie with my homemade Revolution 1.5! I hope you enjoy it! Quote
monkey Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Very amusing, I kept waiting for your catch to actually work :-D My only suggestion would be to let the shots run a little longer Quote
Rui Posted August 3, 2005 Author Report Posted August 3, 2005 Thanks for your comment. This is all I have learned in 2 months. I really woke up to Revolutions since the end of last July, in “Festival Internacional de Alcochete” [international Kite Festival of Alcochete, small village 30 minutes away from Lisbon, on the south margin of River Tagus]. Penny Lingenfelter Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 IN what country? I'm going to see if I can watch the video. BB Penny Quote
Rui Posted August 3, 2005 Author Report Posted August 3, 2005 Portugal! PORTUGAL! Here in Portugal we have nice beaches [+/- 1300km of coastline], very nice weather all year-round and good spots! So… when you came to Portugal, do not forget your kitebag! Quote
monkey Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 I -always- travel with my kite bag :-) Looks like a great place to fly My kite bag currently has 10 revs in it. A little excessive perhaps? Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 I couldn't see it. I tried again today. Oh well... BB Penny Quote
Rui Posted August 5, 2005 Author Report Posted August 5, 2005 I couldn't see it. I tried again today. Oh well... BB Penny What is the problem? Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 I'm a computer dummy. Not sure, I tried opening it with windows media.. nothing.. I tried with explorer.. nothing. I'm at work, so I can't download any thing to open it with. BB Penny Quote
Rui Posted August 5, 2005 Author Report Posted August 5, 2005 Try this one please... http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=RevRui Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 It worked. Kewl... Hey David, what are you talking about. He caught it like 3 times near the end! lol That's about right.. 3 out of every 100 when you start catching on long lines. BB Penny Quote
monkey Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 TRUE! He did get it in the end, and a damn sight better than I am ever able to catch it. I usually catch a Rev with my forehead, which is closely followed by an "oooof, *&%&&*" sound Quote
Mousie Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 Very niceeeeeeeeeeee... I want to build one!!!!!!! It looks beautiful there.... hugs mousie Quote
John Barresi Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Beautiful Rui!!!!! I really like your video... I want to ask, does the video actually show your progression on the Rev? In other words, is the first footage from when you were just figuring some stuff out... And you leading us on through your development? Just curious... Regardless, nice work. Quote
John Barresi Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Homemade Rev discussion moved to Quad Heads forum... http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=619 Quote
Rui Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Posted September 14, 2005 Hi John. Thanks! I'm glad you like it! This is, in fact, my first Rev video. Some days before I tried to catch the kite and after a few tries, it worked. So, I’ve asked a friend of mine to catch me on tape on the next weekend, and the first tries… were just like what you see! So, I may say that this video shows my progression! Besides that, just put a nice music, order the clips, and… mix them well… Quote
John Barresi Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Thank you Rui, again... Great job. Quote

I'll go (close) to Faro (south coast of Portugal) between the 29th of October to 3rd of November if nothing unforeseen happens. If anyone happens to be in the area at the time, let me know and I'd be happy to do some sky sharing and kite talking (yes, I know it is another long-shot again, but at least I have to try). Quote
